☀️ The Golden Hour Tour ☀️ for the past week or so I’ve been travelling around Vancouver Island in the golf Islands performing with my friend @tinforestpix - what a gorgeous place. We played so many amazing stages, had so many great times, celebrated Pride and took Pride in our beautiful province all through Victoria, Nanaimo, Duncan, Courtenay and Saltspring Island.

As well as sharing my own tunes, I got to see a lot of great friends and great talent perform along the way! Including @leodejohnson at @victoriapridesociety festival, my Vancouver friends in @runnertheband & @choppingspreeband at @phillips.backyard festival (along with Angine de Poutrine!) and the lovely @eliseleblancmusic at @39daysofjuly in Duncan.

Here are just a few hilights…

🌅 GOLDEN HOUR TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT 🌅 Its official! @tinforestpix and @mattyprez will be back together this summer for a series of shows on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. We dubbed the tour ‘Golden Hour Tour’ because the first 3 shows booked were all set to start around the evening golden hour. We now have a mix of early evening and afternoon shows. They all will be golden, so we’re keeping the name!

Each show will consist of songs from both of us showcasing new material along with deeper cuts from our catalogues. At points we will be joining voices to collaborate onstage duets, unique to each performance.

The tour, will celebrate Matty’s upcoming EP “Highway of No Return” (scheduled late 2026) and Kele’s newest EP “A Bowlful of Stars” (2025). You can be sure to hear renditions of these songs along with many more in this cozy, touching and intimate performance.

Dates (all shows are free except where noted):

Thu, July 9th 6pm – Willow Beach Concert Series, Victoria @districtofoakbay

Fri, July 10th 4pm – 39 Days Festival, Duncan @39daysofjuly

Sat, July 11th 1pm – Sounds Like Summer Concert Series, Nanaimo @oldcityquarter

Sat, July 11th 7pm – Artful: The Gallery, Courtenay *$15 at the door @artfulthegallery

Mon, July 13th 1:30pm – Cameron Bandshell, Victoria @cityofvictoria

@tinforestpix is the distinct love child of Linda Perhacs and Ani DiFranco. She’s 70’s psychedelic, feministic, intelligent- quoting Darwin and Foucault mid-song.

Kele’s dynamic vocals range from choir girl naivete to raging Sinead O’Connor, profound lyrics that are more like a call to action, angry at humanity’s sad state of affairs. These are potent and important protest songs that rage against our indifference and apathy.

Perfect for discerning and open-minded crowds, who have a taste for authenticity and a pallet for the truth. This is peer to peer with music that lives in the likes of the Numero Group catalog.
