I had a lovely visit to @alisanfineartsnyc last month. (@alisanfinearts is their Hong Kong location)

I got to see @danchen_afa and @tinkerism install @cuifei77’s show Vermicular Calligraphy and @chiangyomeiart’s show Moon on the Water.

How wonderful to see the art being unpacked and then attend the opening a few days later. The show is now on view through March 4, go see it! xoxo Prof Lieu

From @alisanfineartsnyc:

Inspired by beetle-carved markings on tree barks, @cuifei77’s series is a further exploration of asemic writing found in nature.

This exhibition focuses on the ink rubbings, the first part of her process, which has resulted in paper reliefs.

The ink rubbings take on a three-dimensional form—in essence, they are delicate molds of the tree trunks where bark beetles left their natural markings.

@chiangyomeiart is an artist, poet, and devout Buddhist who integrates philosophy, psychology, and Buddhist thought into her multidisciplinary works, which include painting, drawing, poetry, and installations.

Chiang’s art reflects her meditations on nature, philosophy, and cognitive psychology, embodying a deeply intellectual and spiritual approach.
