Join us for the latest installation of our seasonal art market in the East Village. Meet over a dozen local artists selling ceramics, pins, prints, textiles, & more.

Hosted at the Miracle Garden, a community garden at East 3rd St and Avenue B. Admission is free, and we’re gonna have music!

Exciting update about our relationship that involves getting married sometime soon!!!!!

2025 (sorta chronological?)

many beloveds not pictured here. many significant experiences undocumented. so much felt throughout the year that I can’t properly express!

some things that happened:
- lost my childhood home
- won a cinema eye honors award
- taught documentary filmmaking to 3 classes of brilliant, curious, compassionate high schoolers
- started working at a restaurant where my coworkers are some of the sweetest, funniest ppl I know
- @unionthefilm was broadcast on PBS and started streaming on criterion channel
- finished a short film I started in 2022 about my grandfather
- worked on several docs throughout the year and got to be in the field again after 2 years. special projects with special people.
- started taking harp lessons again and wrote a lot of music

and of course life and love and friendship and romance and heartbreak and failure and dreaming and yearning in between and as a part of all these things that happened.

this year i worked hard and felt deeply. and I’m not sure if i come off as an extreme person but next year I want to work even harder (as in the pursuit of liberation) and feel more deeply. there is so much life to live and i am so grateful for that. thank you all for being a part of it!

30% of all funds raised will be going to comrade Jakhi McCray. From Jakhai’s givesendgo: Jakhi McCray is a committed organizer in the Palestine and abolition movements and beloved member of many communities across New York and New Jersey. He is facing federal persecution for allegedly setting fire to police vehicles belonging to the 83rd precinct in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 21, Jakhi faces a charge that carries a minimum sentence of 5 years of incarceration and a maximum of 20 years. Honoring Jakhi’s longstanding recognition of the interconnected nature of struggles for liberation and against state repression, contributions from this fundraiser will be split between Jakhi and other prisoners and people facing state repression.

we’re starting the evening with a beautiful live reading by Laura Al-tibi and Amr Amer (haykal) from their book "Against the Structural Weight of Catastrophe: Poetics of Negation” in which the co-authors “…weave together song and critical analysis, unsettling colonial conceptions of Palestinians’ relation to their land economically and existentially.”
