SALT Team Day.

We don’t get the chance to get our entire team together very often - but it’s always special when we do.

In March we closed both of our sites down for the day and focused on spending some time together. We also invited some special guests to come and share time with us too.

Here’s what we got up to:

We had our bi-annual team meeting where we welcomed new team members, heard about personal goals from everyone and got some exciting updates from our Founder & CEO about plans for the next year🤫

Long term regular at SALT and mobility coach Clare @raw_movementuk gave us some brilliant advice about the importance of foot health in our industry (all hairdressers will understand this!) and gave us tips about looking after our bodies at work, plus some massage ball gifts for the gang.

SALT’s go-to Chiropractor, Ben, Founder of @thekiroclinic got us out of our seats and working on his essential stretching list aimed directly at hair stylists, focusing on key areas such as back, shoulders, calves and glutes. Longevity in hairdressing is something we are very focused on with at SALT and stretching is so important for this, there were a few groans and moans but my gosh we were all feeling more limber after that!

SALT Founder @johnpaulscott_salt stepped up next and gave a talk about “Financial literacy” for the team. He covered financial terminology, self-employment vs employment, and differences between putting money in different assets such as property, stocks or pensions. Money isn’t everything but understanding it is important!

Next up our @davines_uk family came down with @lee_hair_educator sharing the tea on the exciting new Davines Essentials range, which are now mainly created via regenerative farming methods, better for us and better for the planet.

The day was capped off with a 45 minute guided mediation by our good friend, the talented Amy @tinytouching_ It was a perfect end to our team day being able to unwind, decompress and reset together.

Last but not least - it was St Patrick’s Day - so how better to finish up with a couple of cold pints of Guinness in Borough Market. Would be rude not too🇮🇪

There’s only one @saltsalonlondon

Hello!

I am going to be better at posting about my therapy offering at in bloom. but it does also feel a tad counterintuitive to being a somewhat blank slate that a therapist might like to be - I am negotiating for myself what it is to show up in this way:)

BUT I would love more clients in my private practice, and along side all the regular routes for referrals I am coming to YOU also 🫂

In my private practice I work with anyone who is curious about themselves and looking to engage with their life in a way that makes them feel empowered, autonomous and connected. I have worked with a wide range of clients spanning over a decade in areas like domestic violence and sexual assault, homelessness, addiction, HIV, depression, anxiety, income insecurity and more.

My aim with private practice however, is for you to come without the need to fit in to any of these topic driven categories and for our work to ebb and flow with your natural waves. 🌊

My framework in psychodynamic in nature and as such we will work a lot in the here and now, and understand how your past experiences are influencing the way you show up in that hereness and nowness. 🌀 📍

I currently have capacity in the office space above on Wednesday evenings (oxford circus) and varying availability online.

for more information you can reach out via the website link in my bio 💖 please share, I would love your word of mouth referral 🫶🏻

love you,
Ang🐣

hi angels 🌀
another block away from screens this week and once again feeling incredibly peaceful and ambitious. On Monday night i went to an event with my sweet friend @rosie_moves_ at the buddhist center and turned my phone off before going in at 19:15 and didn’t turn it back on until 13:15 on wednesday (today). I was away from all screens and external stimulation for 42 hours and I hope to make this a practice at least twice a month. This time round I read and wrote but no music or anything else that I didn’t instigate from in or on my own body.

Last week I had loads of people saying they were going to try screen blocking this week, did you? if so, how did it go??

here are some things that make this possible:

🔅first and foremost it’s possible because i tell myself that it is of value and in line with how i want to live my life
🔅 i stacked up my work differently by picking up extra classes on sunday and doing about 8 extra hours of admin between friday - sunday of last week
🔅*i am privileged to feel safe in the home i live in*
🔅 i trust that whatever comes up in my hours of silence and mediation my brain can handle
🔅stock my house with things i need
🔅 i let people know (this is minor as i am a small peewee and not high powered and have no dependents - BY DESIGN!)

things i do with my time:
🌸 meditate
🌸 somatic movement
🌸 prioritize cozy fits
🌸 walk in nature
🌸 write
🌸 read
🌸 think big things
🌸 think nothing at all
🌸 labor over making a pho with my homemade bone broth
🌸 meal prep
🌸 made things in my house visually beautiful
🌸 put all my plants in the bath, re potted where needed and rearranged back in their homes
🌸 exercised
🌸 reflected
🌸 made furniture adjustments to be more practical and efficient
🌸 danced

I really implore you to take time away from your screen WHEN YOU CAN. Working freelance affords me the opportunity to do this in the week days but if you work a 9-5 and get weekends off, why not give yourself this peaceful gift on saturday or sunday?? 🫂

OKAY LOVE YOU
Ang🐣

I am very excited to introduce in bloom’s final offering of the year! Off Your Chest, a men’s drop-in support group.

This group is a confidential space for men to come and talk openly about anything they need to get off their chest in a judgement free and compassionate environment. I will be leading it with grounding practices, breath work, and gentle therapeutic interventions where appropriate, but mostly it will be a space for release.

It can often feel as though our stressors aren’t worth talking about, or like joining a group means we have to already know what our main concern is (e.g AA, NA, or any other very focused group). At Off Your Chest my intention is for you to drop in, offer what’s weighing on you and hopefully leave feeling lighter. It is a place for guided discussion, reflection and connection.

the details :

🗓️ Monday December 29th
📍 Tiny Studios (deptford) Norfolk House,
Brookmill Road SE8 4HL
🕰️ 18:00-19:30

this will be a donation based group (the donation is more about your commitment to attendance, and is completely optional)

for more information you can dm me here or reach out via email at angelainbloom.com

MY SWEET ANGELS💞

BIG UP everyone who has supported me through the last three years of my life. I have been working very hard to complete my newest offering at in bloom. ‼️ which is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy !:)

I have officially completed my 3 year masters and can call myself a qualified psychotherapist - and I am so pleased to be able to do so!

I will be taking online clients as of next week and in person (in the office space in this reel!) from the first week of January✨

I will be posting more about what this can look like in the coming weeks but if you are looking to start therapy / know someone who is looking to start therapy, feel free to reach out via the link in my bio :)

lots of love 🧠 🐣
