The @texasplayboysbaseball game was rained out, but we still had a great fall day. We enjoyed a hit-the-can bunting contest with @blue.jean.ball.club, great tacos by @dba_jacksanders, fire pits, and good fun with good people.

Sponsor Shoutout: @moontowerrentals 🐊

Meet The Swamp Shack our newest addition to deep right field and arguably the best seats in the house.

This little beauty started its life as part of @diplo ‘s two step Inn stage set for Swap Savant, capturing his swampy country-electronica persona, before our friends at @partymoontexas generously donated it to The Long Time.

Now it’s got a new job: a perch in deep right, a place to heckle your outfielder, offer unsolicited baseball tips, and generally distract and annoy anyone trying to make a play.

The Swamp Shack is just one of the MANY reasons we love Party at the Moontower! They help us make all of our events look damn good, and make the production of events a whole lot easier. Their crew of design lovers has a knack for bringing warmth, personality, and a distinctly Austin point of view to everything they touch.

Thanks for making our parties prettier, our lives easier, and deep right field a whole lot more fun. Give @moontowerrentals some love and come claim a seat at The Swamp Shack this Fall 🙌🏽

Jack mic’d for a glimpse into a rainy season at The Long Time.

Sandlot Stories
Pilot featuring the Texas Playboys
Coming 2027

Sandlot Stories is a documentary series about the people keeping sandlot strange and singular. A portrait of a community built on friendship, foul balls, and a shared love of the game.

The pilot follows the Texas Playboys Baseball Team and Social Club, a team built as much on fellowship and folklore as wins and losses.

For more than a decade, we’ve been gathering stories and moments at The Long Time. We’ve been chasing the weird, celebrating the wild, and occasionally remembering there’s a game to play.

We have to be able to look around and recognize that history is happening in real time. One day, these photos might live on a wall somewhere, maybe even inspire the next generation, but that only matters if we’re intentional about what we’re building right now.

Where is our effort going? Is it built to last? Is it truly about community, or just feeding our own sense of relevance?

The more I look inward, the more I see others clearly. The more I understand myself, the deeper I experience the people around me. Every photo, every word, every statement carries weight, it could be the seed of something that lasts.

We should see that in each other, and push to bring out the best we have to offer.

Austin isn’t just shot bars and BPM. Some of the most important parts of our culture are subtle by design, you have to pay attention, or you just might miss it.

Look at everything, closer.
