POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It was amazing last night to get truly intellectually stimulated! 🧠

Yesterday, @tirusduncan hosted the lovely @andreahunley_in at the first live @thejourneyuppodcast where we got to learn about her upbringing, her ideology of where Indiana can be and how she has been uplifted in her life from Fort Wayne to Indianapolis decades of experience and emotional resilience all right here📍

Great questions, great environment and also great Gumbo! Appreciate the food for thought gang 🫡📙

2nd annual We Ride For No More Suicide @thalleyboy x @tonybennettmemorialfoundation 🤘🏾!

Peace! I had the Black-tastic honor to participating in the second annual ‘We Ride for No More Suicide’ organized by the mighty Black man Stretch Thalley @thalleyboy x @followdmoneypod ! I enjoyed being out with the people! Connecting with the people in-person not just on social media is what helps me keep going. Couldn’t get much content due to participating so I hope what I captured shows the experience.

The Black plight in its various forms can take a toll on you not only internally but externally. Classism, sexism, capitalism, and all the other oppressive systems stemming from a backwards and vicious system can make you sometimes feel inadequate or less than. Just know you are not alone. It’s natural to get down and upset at times. It’s a natural human emotion. I go through it myself but after I process what I’m feeling I go to my relievers. Community events/efforts, anime, books, cartoons, being outdoors, movies, or Boondocks 😂.

Thank you for putting this even together my brotha @thalleyboy

What a great opportunity to be in the room! Such an amazing panelist and conversation. I can’t wait to drop more footage. #butterartfair #mirrorindy #indycreatorsclub

Saturday reminded me that wellness is both a feeling and a practice.

During the Ajani Active Movement Experience in collaboration with BUTTER, one of the best questions from the panel was: “Is wellness a feeling or a practice?”

My answer was both.

We talked about what it really takes to sustain greatness. Setting boundaries. Removing the mask. Creating systems that support the life we say we want. Because greatness is not just about how well we perform. It is also about whether we can sustain the person behind the performance.

That conversation felt timely for me.

I’m stepping into a chapter where consulting, speaking, and helping others build healthier systems will become a much bigger part of my work. Not separate from what I’ve been doing, but an extension of the purpose behind it.

The daily work built the foundation.

Now I’m excited to take the message into more rooms. 🚀

Shout out to @b.davisjohnson for making it all possible!

“We’re showing up with these masks on and wonder why; we look in the mirror, and don't see someone we know”

Peace! This was my very first time at Chreece @chreeceaf and it was Black-tastic! I was literally there experiencing non-stop fun for about 12 hours 😂.

I got to see the mighty Black woman Rico Nasty @riconasty front row! Her energy was CRAZY! I only knew two Rico Nasty songs prior but will tap in after seeing how locked in the crowd was when she came on stage!

Saw my brotha and fellow historian Sampson @sampson_2 living his best life 😂. Our soon to be first Black woman mayor of Indianapolis Andrea Hunley @andreahunley_in also pulled up! Of course I caught my dawg Jay Tea @onlyjaytea perform and kicked it with my main people! Mr. 42K himself @4200kory KILLED HIS ENTIRE SET! Man it was just so amazing! I’m excited for next year!

Jorjiana performed. @jorjiana219

Rip Frankie Beverley. This mighty Black man’s music played a trailblazing role to the development of hip-hop and rap as well as inspiring many hip-hop artists music careers 🕊️. It was only right to wear his legacy at a hip-hop festival.

Peace! I have so much coming in the next few weeks for the people but I’m reflecting on how Black-tastic the last two months have been. Been working hard behind the scenes for a while. I’m excited to show you all very soon!

Big congratulations to my brotha @jahsanwright for getting married! I love to see a Black-tastic union! @brelamarie

Still thinking about July 💭

Our show this month with @jennifermagley is already SOLD OUT. It’s also our one-year anniversary of the live shows with @draftcreativespace & @tinkerstreetindy. We’ve cultivated an experience unlike any other in Indy.

It’s more than a podcast; it’s an experience in community.

Shout out to all our previous guests. Shout out to our partners and sponsors.

And most importantly, shout out to y’all for showing up. This is our 10th straight sold out show at draft. That doesn’t happen without you.

Have you been to the show yet? Let people know why they need to get there this year!

Haven’t been yet? Tickets go on sale for September with @callmemintea on 8/26. Grab yours then 🎟️

September 5 + 6, we’re creating the kind of space we wish existed more often.

Come move. Learn something. Meet somebody. Leave with more than you came with.

The Ajani Movement Experience @butterartfair.

Transformative by design. Informative with intention. Built for what happens next.
