e.l.f. Beauty and Parity surveyed 9,500 women across four countries. The single strongest predictor of career success wasn’t the school, the degree, or the industry.

It was high school sports.

Women who played organized sports for three or more years before finishing high school are 50% more likely to hold leadership positions, 37% more likely to aspire to the top — and 25% more likely to have negotiated their own salary.

90% of the ones who got promoted credited sports with getting them there.

This isn’t a sports story. It’s a leadership story. And it has serious implications for every woman building something, leading something, or raising someone who will.

Why is this picture of Oklahoma State Softball players dancing in their locker room important?

1. In 80’s, when Hall of Fame coach Sandy Fischer took over the OSU softball program she wasn’t paid equal to even what the men’s assistant coaches were making. 2. Coach Fischer was driven to an empty sandlot field with a backstop and no dugouts and told this is your home field 3. When Coach Fischer asked about assistant coaches she was told she could probably find a “house wife” in the neighborhood willing to volunteer. 4. The food allotment on the road covered one meal so the students often had to skip a breakfast to have enough money for a full lunch or dinner meal. LOOK at the OSU locker room today. Title IX is real. Title IX has helped to make funding of women’s sports more equal at the college level as a well as program that receives federal funding. There is still more work to be done. Women and men’s sports can share fields of play, except softball where the dimensions are different than baseball. We need more softball fields at all levels, including for professional softball. Support programs and products that give back to support women’s sports.

Inside the Circle with Coach Pat. Available on youtube, apple and spotify IMAGINE A TIME WHEN ONLY MALE ATHLETICS WAS SUPPORTED. TITLE IX was the first step to change that and was the catalyst to begin to require more equality in funding and supporting female sports. It’s more than athletics, it helps lead to opportunities for females to follow their dreams beyond the arena. #titleix #usasoftball

She’s the only woman in NBA history to sign a contract.
That’s not even the headline she’d lead with. 👀

Our latest guest on The High Achieving Female Podcast is Ann Meyers Drysdale — swipe to hear her explain:
🏀 why “glass ceiling” is the wrong metaphor entirely
🏀 the rejection at 17 that almost stopped her from trying out for the NBA at 24
🏀 what she thinks is the actual next barrier for women in sports (hint: it’s not on the court)

Save this for the next time someone tells you “no.” 📌

Thirty years ago today, the USA Softball Team took the field in Columbus, Georgia, for the very first Olympic softball game in history. 🇺🇸🥎

We weren’t just playing a game—we were part of a moment that changed the sport forever. Grateful to have shared the field with an incredible group of women who helped inspire generations of athletes to dream bigger.

Here’s to the pioneers, the teammates, and the legacy that continues today. ❤️🤍💙
