It’s has been an amazing month working with this crew of kind, curious and inquisitive humans. Sharing the power of a mobility practice is so exciting and I cannot wait to see how they share it with their communities. We had some great lols, some a-ha moments, got to celebrate birthdays, and got to celebrate and lift each other up in learning something new. Shout out to @lululemon for the support in providing gifts for the students. Shout out to @thelabvictoria for hosting us. Keep an eye out for some new mobility teachers on the fall schedule. Make sure you make it to the last slide to learn everyone’s new fave exercise 😉

Join us Wednesday March 18th for Unfurl: Yin + Acupuncture Spring Equinox Ritual, a 75-minute seasonal practice honouring the Spring Equinox and Pisces New Moon. This special evening invites you to transition gently from winter into spring through yin yoga, acupuncture, meditation, and deep rest in a calm and supportive space. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, this offering supports the Wood element and the Liver and Gallbladder meridians—associated with movement, circulation of qi, vision, and growth. Through slow, accessible yin shapes focused on the hips, side body, and torso, we’ll encourage the smooth flow of energy and create space for renewal. The second half of the evening will be devoted to fully supported rest, guided meditation, and yoga nidra. During this time, optional acupuncture points will be offered to regulate the nervous system, soften tension, and deepen your capacity to rest and receive. Spring is the season of becoming—an intelligent, gradual unfurling. This practice offers space to soften, listen inward, and create the conditions for what is ready to grow. Unfurl into spring with intention, rest deeply, and practice in community. No prior experience with yoga or acupuncture is required. All are welcome. What to Bring: Comfortable clothing that allows access below the knees and elbows, layers to stay warm, and anything that helps you feel supported and at ease. We encourage you to arrive a few minutes early to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere. Space is limited to 30 participants, so reserving your spot is recommended. Hosted By: Sativa Yael – Yoga Teacher Jordan Gibb – Registered Acupuncturist Event Details Date: Wednesday, March 18th Time: 5:30 pm – 6:45 pm Location: Ashtanga Yoga Victoria 626A Fisgard St. Victoria, BC Cost: Sliding Scale Suggested Drop-In: $45–$65 Reserve in BIO

Dream Man Robert Redford has gone to Heaven There has only ever been one celebrity that has ever had me crushing (the hair washing scene in Out of Africa my gawd), reeling, dreaming, stalking, and I probably actually legitimately loved him: Robert Redford. When @tivaaaa was little, I bought the DVDs of every single one of his films and we watched them all…some over and over… she loved him too. Today I texted her: “our dream daddy died today” His voice and his smile were both absolute perfection. He was an artist in a time before the Hollywood I knew. No #metoo allegations ever veered his way nor will any ever be made as I know in my bones he was a man of integrity, who used his profits from Hollywood to support other artists and the land itself. He is a man worth celebrating, in a world where few truly are. Pat a horse in his honour, or perhaps watch one of his political-commentary films (Three Days of the Condor, The Candidate, sneakers) which are timelessly relevant.

A JOURNEY THROUGH ECLIPSE & DREAM STATE On Sunday, September 7th, join Sativa for an evening of deep rest and gentle reconnection under the rare and potent energy of the Full Moon in Pisces and a total lunar eclipse—a supermoon and blood moon wrapped into one cosmic event. This is more than a full moon—it’s a threshold moment. The kind of night that invites you to pause, soften, and let go of what’s heavy so you can make space for what’s ready to arrive. ✨ WHAT TO EXPECT Restorative Yoga: Slow, gentle postures supported by bolsters and blankets to release tension and settle into stillness. Guided Yoga Nidra: A restful, body-led meditation that brings the mind into deep calm while keeping the heart open. Astrological Insight: A short overview of the energetic and spiritual significance of this powerful lunar and eclipse alignment. Sacred Atmosphere: Candles, ambient music, aromatherapy, cozy props, and a sense of community connection. No experience is needed—this is a space for being, not doing. Please bring your own yoga mat; all other props will be provided. 🌌 WHY THIS MOON MATTERS The Full Moon in Pisces calls us inward, toward intuition, compassion, and emotional release. With the added charge of a total lunar eclipse, this night marks a powerful clearing and closing—the perfect time to shed old cycles and welcome new beginnings with clarity and intention. 🪷 ABOUT SATIVA Sativa’s name rooted in the union of Sati (grounded devotion) and Shiva (dynamic transformation) reflects her lifelong connection to balance and change. Her classes are guided by the rhythms of the moon, seasons, and energetic shifts, making each gathering a ritual as much as a practice. During this Full Moon + Eclipse Restore & Nidra, she offers a nurturing space to connect inward, breathe deeply, and listen to the quiet truths within. 📍 EVENT DETAILS Date: Sunday, September 7th Time: 7:00 PM Drop In: $30 What to Bring: Your own yoga mat (bring your favourite blanket + dress cozy)
