Forever grateful for the friendships and memories I made during my 4 years at MHS 💕

Thank you Mascoutah.

I couldn’t have asked for a better 4 years. Moving here a week before my freshmen year was scary. I never thought I’d have as much friends and people in my life as I do now. Thanks to sports I made so many friends. I wish I would’ve hung out with my them more, instead I sat in my room or scrolled reels when I could’ve been making memories. Graduating is a mountain, and in order to get to the top you have to take one step at a time.

Although I am continuing my academic journey at WashU in the fall, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed and sad knowing I might never see some of the people in my class again. Seeing the same faces everyday for 4 years becomes monotonous and common but looking back it’s something I wish would continue to happen. I used to think high school would be my last thing, and hoped it would last forever. But now I have something to look forward too, still I’m quite scared for the future and what my life holds for me.

I’m thankful for all my friendships over these 4 years but especially for Garet. Thank you Garet for being my best friend these four years and always being there for me. Love you Gary ‘Gotl’ Dunalp.

I also want to thank Irelynn for being in my life and making the last half of high school amazing. I love you 💚

And now I leave with two quotes:

Once an Indian, Always an Indian 💜

and one for those scared of their future just like me, from my favorite movie OAT

“When will I know I’m ready?
You won’t. It’s a leap of faith. That’s all it is, Miles. A leap of faith.”

With love,
