Summer is gently coming to an end, and with it comes that annual back-to-school nostalgia. We look back on this season unlike any other...
 And for me, it’s time to talk about the project that emerged with the first warm days: Heatline.

Heatline was born from Emmanuelle’s vision, with Lola as art director, who had the great idea of inviting me to join them.
Heatline was months of exploration, scouting artists, exchanging with inspiring talents, endless InDesign files… and at the end of it all, a beautiful 336-page baby, we’re very proud of.

So thank you to Emmanuelle for having the strength to launch this independent project and, above all, for trusting us. A huge thank you to you, Lola ✨

And finally, thanks to all of you who contributed—your time and talents made this project possible.

Limitations breed character.⁠
⁠
Typewriters operate within a strict set of rules. Every letter occupies the same amount of space, and every character arrives through the same mechanical process. It's a rigid system, almost bureaucratic in its precision.⁠
⁠
Constraints however, don’t necessarily make work less expressive. Sometimes they make you more inventive. Rather than attempting to remove the restrictions of the machine, ALT Ricalco, designed by Tina Božan led by ALT’s Creative Director Giulia Boggio, embraces them. ⁠
⁠
Its kerning is kept deliberately minimal, allowing the spatial, mechanical limitations associated with the typewriter to become an integral part of the typeface's visual character.⁠
