Sometimes inspiration comes out of now where, and sometimes it feels impossible to find. I really struggle to be comfortable on those days when I’m not feeling inspired, but I also know that to create the photography work that I am most proud of I need to connect to the environment, to my camera, and let my technical skills flow. Forcing it has never worked.

What inspires you to go out and make images? How do you get out of a funk? Leave a comment with your ideas.

Brooke’s Cake Picnic 2026 🍰🌼🥂

A few years ago, cake picnics became a thing, and I’ve wanted to go to one ever since. When one finally came to LA, it sold out immediately—and it was $50 plus you still had to bring a cake.

So I thought, why pay $50 to eat cake with strangers when I could eat cake with my friends?

And that’s how Brooke’s Cake Picnic was born.

I love making little excuses to bring people together, and there’s something so special about seeing an idea that only existed in your head become a real afternoon with people you love.

Very lucky to have such wonderful, creative, silly people in my life! 🍒

Yesterday was also @echoparkrising. My first time going but def not the last. We had a great time crashing parties and drinking on the street with many other law abiding citizens #StreetPhotography #AbstractLabor #FuckTheHype #LosAngelesPhotoDept #joserxfilm

NYC pt. 2 | Thirty, flirty, thriving 🎂

I can’t believe Hunter somehow got so many of my favorite people to New York to celebrate with me. To everyone who traveled, showed up, and made 30 so incredibly special, thank you. I feel so deeply loved, and I’ll never stop being grateful for all of you. 🤍

DTLA has an energy of its own. Like Hollywood, it’s widely disregarded as a destination for tourist and locals alike.

Who’s coming to shoot next time?

I think DTLA has a charm to it that once again requires the simple matter of showing up. I find that once we explore these places, and take a second to engage with the urban landscape, we can find things that are genuinely fun and interesting.

This footage was shot by @tjmaries on one Friday night in June. Creature, TJ, and I did beers, made some new friends, and ultimately took some photos. Check out the reel to see what you’re missing.

The joy of watching the people near and dear to you find their person might be unmatched. So many moments of tears and laughter and shared elation.
I am so happy @tjmaries and @ashalillian found each other.
I hope you’re living it up on your honeymoon! I love you guys!

Some B&W goodies from the welcome reception ❤️

Do you trash or archive negatives?
I’ve been hearing of people that just don’t pick up their negatives from the lab, and i just do not understand.
