. . Two new adornments to the walls of Hog Towers, prints of original art drawings by my very good Instabuddy @tkcycling aka @tksketch_ aka Takamitsu Kawashima. His was one of the first accounts I started following on Insta over fifteen years ago, both being interested in cycling, Brutalist Architecture and Modernist design and we’ve shared comments, images & messages ever since. Also check out his @tkdesignstudio account. He very kindly made prints of two of his original pencil/ink drawings for me, which I’ve had framed in suitably brutal/complimentary frames. The more traditional building is a sweetshop run by one of Takamitsu’s old school friends and forms part of an everyday Japanese streetscape. The Brutalist building is the main hall of Seirai-In Temple in Hamamatsu City, built in 1958, designed by famous local architect Sugimoto. These pictures now hold pride of place in my lounge and I feel very privileged to have them! Thank you my friend TK!! Arigatou Gozaimasu!! πŸ™πŸ» πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ ✍🏻 #japaneseart #architecturedrawing #archi_sketch #architecturaldrawing #art_citecture

. . Tattoo #3!! You should by now know know what this symbolises, it’s one of the concrete diamonds making up the facade of the Welbeck Street car park in London, a brutalist beauty which was sadly demolished in 2019. I use its image as the logo for my @brutal_architecture feed. Click on the location ☝🏻 up there to see it . . The Japanese text spells the initials β€˜TK’ in honour of my friend @tkcycling who artworked the image πŸ€œπŸ»πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅πŸ€›πŸ» . . And very delicately & expertly inked by Jane @jctattooleeds πŸ™ŒπŸ» A team effort, I fucking love it!!! 😍#welbeckstreetcarpark. . . #brutalist #brutalism #betonbrut #modernist #modernism #michaelblampied #japan #japanesetattoo #japanesetattoodesign #japanesetattooart #tattoo #brutal_architecture #brutalistarchitecture #cool_pointy_things #geometrictattoo
