Last night, I sat among the Class of 2025 graduation, Hayden’s class. The class he should’ve walked with. The classmates he should’ve laughed with, stood beside, and tossed his cap into the sky with.

After we lost Hayden, I made a quiet promise to God
I would do everything in my power to love and support his friends, his classmates, his world. It hasn’t always been easy. Many days I showed up running on empty. Some nights I questioned if I was even making a difference at all. I wrestled with doubt and grief, but I kept showing up.

For Hayden.
For them.

And last night, I got my answer.

As I looked out, Hayden’s friends were wearing Hayden’s Corner shirts beneath their graduation robes. Many wearing his bracelets.

The student speakers didn’t shy away from the hard things, they spoke truth.
About mental health.
About resilience.
About the pressure to be perfect.
And about the peace that can only be found in God’s love.

An empty seat saved honoring all those gone too soon..

After the ceremony, I hugged so many of Hayden’s friends, some in tears, all with hearts full of love. In those hugs, I felt my soul breathe. I felt Hayden. I felt hope.

To the Class of 2025: My heart is forever tied to yours. I love you deeply and will always be in your corner. I pray Hayden’s story reminds you that your life matters. That you are never alone. That even in the darkest moments, God still has a plan for you.

To Hayden’s friends: Thank you. Thank you for loving our son. Thank you for walking through the hard stuff. Thank you for just being you. You are a light in this world, and I will always be here if you need me. I know Hayden will be too.

And to all of us..may we never forget:
#ConversationsMatter.
