We thank the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir for bringing us along for a journey to fill in the gaps of what was left unsaid in the work created by one of our greatest classical composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Specifically focusing on two of his most monumental, unfinished masterpieces, the Great Mass in C Minor and the Requiem, Maestro Jean-Sébastien Vallée led the choir as they breathed new life into these pieces that so many of us know and love 🎵

Two fantastic concerts of Mozart’s Mass in C minor and Requiem, with the North American premiere of Pierre-Henri Dutron’s new version, sung by the incredible forces of the Mendelssohn Choir, led by the fantastic Jean-Sébastien Vallée, and such a great team of soloists: Claire de Sévigné, Lindsay McIntyre, Krisztina Szabó, and Alex Halliday!

The Edward’s Studio was also well represented by his alumni! 👏🏻

“It’s the sort of piece you save for a special occasion…” 🎉🎶🍾

And there’s lots more Mahler over the coming weeks!

This masterpiece speaks to everything I love about symphonic music: its power and intimacy, its scale and honesty—and, above all, its humanity.

Mahler’s Second Symphony has accompanied me on an extraordinary journey this year: performances with the Naples Philharmonic in March, my final concerts as Music Director of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra in July, and now the opening chapters of my tenures with National Symphony Orchestra Ireland and Pacific Symphony.

I hope you can join us:

🇮🇪 Dublin — 11 September
National Symphony Orchestra Ireland
National Symphony Chorus Ireland
Tara Erraught, soprano
Dame Sarah Connolly, mezzo-soprano

🇺🇸 Orange County — 1, 2 & 3 October
Pacific Symphony
Pacific Chorale, Robert Istad, Artistic Director
Miah Persson, soprano
Dame Sarah Connolly, mezzo-soprano

Or come to them all—you won’t regret it! 😬#

Welcome back to the RCM for a Fall/Winter season filled to the brim with exciting events. Keep an eye out for concerts, talks, and everything in between this September!

In the 2026 CBC Massey Lectures, Leilani Farha, global director of The Shift and former UN special rapporteur on the Right to Housing, reckons with a crisis engineered by governments and perfected by financial firms. In her first Massey Lecture, “Home,” she explores how our homes shape our sense of dignity, identity, and security.

LIGHTHOUSE, the iconic and legendary Canadian band is joined by Ontario Philharmonic strings for a rocking concert at Toronto’s Koerner Hall. Inducted into the Hall of Fame, this platinum-selling, multiple Juno Award-winning group is certain to take you back to some of the best times of your life.

Spectacular, multi-platinum selling, Juno Award-winning, crossover Canadian tenor, Remigio takes the stage for a second night, joining Maestro Marco Parisotto and the Ontario Philharmonic in a stirring evening of orchestral passion and grandeur—blending original songs with beloved classics like “O sole mio,” “Caruso,” and “Circle of Life,” alongside Puccini and Rossini.

Come spend an evening on the edge. Join The Moth this fall for TIGHTROPE, an evening of extraordinary true stories about what happens when there’s no clear path—only the courage to keep moving forward.

Directed by Jakob Lehmann, Tafelmusik’s opening concerts of the season are devoted to the music of two mavericks of their era, Ludwig van Beethoven and Louise Farrenc.

Two of Mozart’s most monumental sacred works — the Great Mass in C Minor and the Requiem — stand among the most powerful and mysterious masterpieces in Western music. Both, however, were left unfinished. This concert reimagines these iconic works through a new artistic lens.
