Cannes recap! Still processing & reminiscing on an incredible 10 days 💌 Feels surreal to finally begin sharing @sobeit.film with the world, I couldn’t ask for a better first audience.

Many thanks to @americanpavilion & @goldhouseco for inviting So Be It to this year’s Emerging Filmmaker Showcase and making our time so special. I’m so grateful to be a part of a craft and community I absolutely adore.

After 11 days wandering the Marché like a confused extra in my own genre-bending flick, it was nice to reconnect with my people again at the IndieWire Honors Night. One of the perks of being part of the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmakers program at Cannes (courtesy of IndieWire and Gold House) is getting to spend an evening surrounded by ridiculously talented humans. Grateful, and only mildly intimidated. 😀💛😀

A month ago I had the incredible opportunity to visit Warner Brothers and watch ten animated short films submitted for the Oscars 🎬✨

And I can’t even describe how excited I was when a couple of days ago I was informed that TWO of my personal favorites made it into the shortlist for the 98th Academy Awards!

🏆 “Forevergreen”
Shortlisted for Best Animated Short Film 2026
@forevergreen_short_film — its world premiere took place at Animayo, and now it’s competing on one of the biggest stages in the world.

🏆 “Playing God”
Also shortlisted for Best Animated Short Film 2026 An Animayo Award-winning @animayofestival masterpiece that absolutely deserves this recognition.

To see these remarkable works receive such honor and to witness the creative vision behind them was inspiring. Moments like these remind me why cinema matters — storytelling, imagination, and emotion in their purest forms. 🎥💛

Huge congratulations to both teams. And fingers crossed as the journey toward the Oscars continues! 🙌
