POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One of my favorite memories from my first solo trip.

I met these guys performing in a park, stopped to listen and take some photos, and ended up meeting @gerthold3, who offered me a beer. We got talking, and invited me to see them play at the Captain’s Bar that evening.

An old pub, guitars and fiddles, and pints on the table.

I came to Scotland on my own. Somehow, one spontaneous encounter turned into one of the most memorable parts of the trip. I found this photograph months later, and felt it deserved a post.

The moments you never plan for can become the ones you remember most.

Thanks to the @worlds_enders for making a stranger feel welcome. 🍻

Still thinking about last weekend. 🎷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Three days on Islay, and we're not over it yet. Here's a look back at the Caol Ila Islay Jazz Festival 2026. Thank you to everyone who made it one to remember.

See you next year.

Thank you Islay! 🚢💙🥃🎷

Here's a small selection of highlights.

An iconic performance from @tobymottershead in the Caol Ila Barrelstore. The inimitable @audreypowne with her Scottish band at Bruichladdich Hall. @lauraosamusic dazzling us at the jam session at the Gaelic Centre. And a perfect closing set from @matthewkilnermusic.

Thank you to every artist who brought their music to the island, to our sponsor and friends at @caolila.distillery and the Islay Arts Association who work so hard year round to make this festival happen.

Our deepest gratitude to everyone who made the journey to attend the festival. As Matthew Kilner said as he closed the festival last night, jazz needs audiences and coming together as an audience and community for the weekend on Islay is an incredibly special thing. Here's to the magic of jazz 🥃✨

We can't wait to see you on Islay next year.

Here’s a sum up reel of our 2026 Fringe! Thanks to all of those who came along and played, sang and shared the craic with us. Remember - we're here all year round, the fun doesn’t stop after August!

There were many more musicians who played with us this year, but I unfortunately fell sick for 10 days so didn’t manage to get footage of everyone, apologies if I missed you 😓
