Tomorrow Todd Doxzon, local pastor, pro footballer, investor, and realtor is our October Subto Omaha Creative Finance Investing speaker!

Todd is a former professional quarterback turned pastor, real estate entrepreneur, and ESPN college football analyst, driven by faith, leadership, and a commitment to consistent growth.

Todd’s journey began in football at Iowa State University and later the Miami Dolphins. His years in competitive athletics taught him lessons that have carried into every area of his life: embrace the uncomfortable, remain consistent when results aren’t immediate, persevere through adversity, and lead others with purpose. Todd and his wife, Denise, stepped into ministry and founded Love Church in 2008. Over the next 18 years, Love Church grew to serve a community of several thousand people. That experience deepened Todd’s passion for developing people, building healthy organizations, and helping others discover and pursue God’s best for their lives.

About a decade ago, Todd expanded into real estate investing. Since then, he and his family have built a diverse portfolio that includes long-term, medium-term, and short-term rental properties. They are now expanding into commercial real estate with the purchase of their first 9,000-square-foot flex-space building. Todd is also a licensed real estate agent in both Nebraska and Florida, bringing the perspective of an investor, owner, and agent to every transaction.

Todd has also served as a college football analyst for ESPN for five seasons, allowing him to stay connected to the game that helped shape so much of his approach to leadership and life.

Whether in ministry, business, broadcasting, athletics, or family, Todd’s message remains consistent: meaningful results are rarely built overnight. They are built through faith, discipline, perseverance, healthy rhythms, and a willingness to keep showing up—especially when it’s uncomfortable.

Join us for the Subto Omaha Meetup on Tuesday October 20th at 7:30pm. Anyone welcome!

CHECK YOUR WHY.
.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to grow, build, succeed, or make more of what God has given you.

But it’s important to ask yourself what’s driving that desire.

Is it faith? Pressure? Comparison? Fear? Purpose?

God cares about what you build, but He also cares about what’s happening in you while you build it.

MORE ISN’T THE PROBLEM.
.
You can be grateful for what God has given you and still want to grow, build, and do more with it.

The heart check is making sure those things never become what you depend on for peace, security, or identity.

WHAT IF THE “NO” IS A SETUP?
.
Sometimes we think God is ending a story when He is really redirecting it 💥

If you’re in a season of asking, “God, why?” don’t throw in the towel. The story isn’t finished yet.

GOD IS STILL WORKING.
.
Some seasons only make sense in hindsight.

What feels confusing right now may be the very place God is positioning, protecting, and preparing something you can’t see yet.

Keep trusting Him with the parts that don’t make sense.

WHAT ARE YOU GRIPPING THAT WAS MEANT TO MOVE THROUGH YOU?
.
Holding tight feels safe. But it stops the flow.

💧 What you hoard stops. What you release keeps going.
🎁 Generosity isn’t pressure. It’s overflow.

STOP TRYING SO HARD TO BE A BETTER PERSON.
.
Generosity, gratitude, and humility don’t come from working hard. They grow when you slow down and praise. 🙌

Maybe the dream in your heart isn’t fully meant for you to complete.

Maybe it’s meant to be carried forward through the people you’re called to mentor, raise, and pour into.

Today in 1 Kings 8, I was reminded that David had the vision and desire to build the temple for God, but it was Solomon, his son, who fulfilled it. David prepared the way. Solomon completed the assignment.

That challenged me deeply.

We live in a culture obsessed with building bigger businesses, bigger platforms, bigger influence. But in the pursuit of the dream, don’t neglect the people God entrusted to you along the way.

Don’t sacrifice your family for success.
Don’t chase significance while your children are starving for your attention.
Don’t build something impressive publicly while neglecting your first ministry privately.

Pour into your sons.
Encourage your daughters.
Love your wife well.
Mentor the next generation.

Because sometimes the greatest legacy you leave isn’t what you build…
It’s who you build.

Maybe your role is to faithfully prepare, equip, mentor, and develop those coming after you so they can step into the fullness of what God has planned.

That’s leadership.
That’s legacy.
That’s mentorship.

“Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord…” 1 Kings 6:1 NIV

Develop those who are coming after you.

Shoutout to a few men in my circle who I’m getting to see them build others. @mikeoconnelljr @jongordon11 @jordanmmontgomery @ryanpineda @kapchatfield @todddoxzon @csievers54 @jeremyfoster @chadjohnson10 @noahherrin I’ll stop here but could add so many more! So grateful for so many men who are building up others!

Entrepreneurship can be lonely.

I’m sitting by the pool in the middle of the day on a beautiful afternoon, and I’m genuinely grateful for the freedom, flexibility, and opportunity that come with building something of your own.

But if I’m being real… I also miss parts of being in an office.

I miss teammates.
I miss random conversations.
I miss building shoulder to shoulder with people every day.

Yes, I have an amazing cofounder, an assistant, and great people helping with marketing and projects, but a lot of entrepreneurship is still spent alone. Thinking alone. Carrying pressure alone. Making decisions alone.

That’s one reason I’m so grateful for our Lead Different Legacy Beyond community. Having people to pray with, build with, learn with, and do life with matters more than most people realize.

You were never meant to do life alone.

If you’re building a business right now and feeling isolated, get surrounded. Find community. Find mentors. Find people who sharpen you and challenge you.

And if you’re reading this from an office today wishing you had the “freedom” of entrepreneurship, don’t miss the gift sitting right in front of you either.

Lean into your teammates.
Get to know people deeply.
Learn their strengths.
Encourage them.
Add value to them.

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Whatever side you’re on… water it.

And yes… I now realize I may have accidentally quoted Justin Bieber. Humbling moment. 😂

So grateful and thankful for our Lead Different: Legacy Beyond community. Being surrounded by people who want to grow, serve, lead well, and build a legacy beyond themselves is such a gift.

Also incredibly thankful for the mentorship and impact of @jongordon11 I just ordered several copies of The Power of Positive Habits for our community and it is phenomenal.

Seriously… go get this book. Buy one for yourself, your kids, your team, and a few friends.

A few chapters that really stood out to me:
• 77: Elevate Your Circle
• 86: Slay Energy Vampires
• 91: Take a Leap of Faith

Honestly, every chapter delivers wisdom you can apply immediately to your faith, leadership, family, business, and mindset.

The older I get, the more I realize this:
Your habits shape your future.
Your circle shapes your habits.
And your faith shapes everything.

Grateful for leaders who continue pouring into others and reminding us that positivity is not denial… it’s leadership. @mikeoconnelljr thanks for leading this community with me. Thanks to those who are mentoring our community this year! @jongordon11 @maclake24 @kapchatfield @mr.mjpittman @jordanmmontgomery @todddoxzon @jeremyfoster and more! BOREDOM HAS TAKEN OUT MORE PEOPLE THAN BATTLES EVER WILL.
.
The thing that breaks you won’t be the battle. It’ll be the moment you decide you’re done.

🛋️ “I’m just gonna chill” is not a calling
👑 David didn’t fall in the battle. He fell when he stepped away from it.
