✨ WE HAVE CIRCUIT 05 FINALISTS! ✨

Thanks to everyone who submitted fluxworks for Circuit 05 from all over the place (11 countries!) We received 63 submissions from students, first-timers, audio veterans, and everyone in between. What a brilliant mix, our ears are still ringing. Happily.

Next:
- We'll choose four Circuit Selects from these 15 submissions, with the help of our selection committee.

- @drysdaledoesit will join @jatomic and @reverendjohn3000 to present the Circuit Selects, along with our commissioned fluxworks (and a little 3D magic) at 11:30a on June 1 as part of @soundscenefest @hirshhorn in D.C. It's free! All ages!

- We'll play all 15 Finalists at our next virtual Happy Hours / Happy Ears Finalist Listening Party, June 18 from 4-5:30p ET. Hosted by @airmedia and also free! Also all ages! RSVP here:
https://www.soundpath.co/course/audio-flux-happy-hour-happy-ears-june-2025

- We'll share all eight official Circuit 05 fluxworks far and wide on the internets, and eventually on the AF Podcast.

By the way, we just confirmed our Circuit 06 creative partner and are VERY excited about it. More about that soon enough. But in the meantime, can we get a round of noisy applause for these fine, fine Circuit 05 Finalists? 👏👏👏

Here we go, 2025.

We're halfway through our winter fundraiser and thinking back with extreme fondness on our first four circuit cohorts. Look at these rock stars! 🤩

Better yet, go listen to their collective audio brilliance, here: https://www.audioflux.org/overview

And if the spirit moves ya, help us support more producers, more creativity, and more audio joy in 2025, here: audioflux.org/supportaf

We thank you, big time. 😘

💥 We have Circuit 04 finalists! 💥

Thanks to everyone who submitted and congrats to these producers from all over. Recurring themes this (every?) time: family, sense of self, departure. Lots o' dads in the mix & rampant word play. What a beautiful pile of stories! 😻

Next: Our listening committee will help decide on four Circuit Selects which we'll debut at #ResonatePodFest with the fabulous @jasonreynolds83. We'll share them far and wide afterward so keep an eye/ear out AND stay tuned for a Finalist Happy Hour / Happy Ears Listening Party this fall 🥳

Last few years in Walla Walla we lived down the street from Pete, Jeanine and Sam. And then we moved to Eugene and then they moved to Maine! Miss being neighbors…although it was magical to spend a Sunny day at Halibut Point State Park.
//
Terrible burritos in Gloucester, MA at dusk. Glad we still had Jeanine and Sam to make it all worthwhile.
//
The face of hospitality and nostalgia in Salem, MA with Todd Wemmer, one of my high school photography club sponsors and videography teacher. Cheri Wemmer speaks kid and has the patience of a thousand saints—and the mom “know-how” of just the right snacks. Also, so crazy seeing people after 20+ years and crossing the bridge from teenager to legit adult and finding the grownups from your teenage years now share similar interests and humor.

"All personal photographs are trying to get lost. Whether they are tucked away in a photo album or existing as ones and zeroes in a computer hard drive, it takes work from their caretakers to protect personal images." - @toddwemmr

I had the pleasure of assembling my great grandmother's Life Story four years ago after she died at 94.

Mildred Stout was born into a German Immigrant family. They were butcher and grocery store owners in Chillicothe, MO. “I had a happy childhood, playing with siblings and neighbors. Our parents were not demonstrative, but they were supportive. We made our own fun, making up games, sewing doll clothes, putting on shows in the backyard with curtains pulled along the clotheslines.” This photograph was so beautiful and easily became my favorite!

It was taken at Lake Miloc in Minnesota. ~shared by @mandydearest
