Check out our review for Porcelain and their new album "Today's Minor Victories"!

The album is out today via TODO!

"If you like any of the bands mentioned in this review, I’m absolutely sure you’ll find something to love about this record. I know I have, and the amount of times I’ve sent rave messages about songs from here to my indie and alternative rock loving friends are even more proof. Today’s Minor Victories totally lives up to its name, feeling like a minor victory, and we all know how sweet and rare those are these days."

"DSD" is a song about the existential dread and helplessness in witnessing the atrocities of ICE against our friends and neighbors. The accompanying video is not; instead, it captures us trying to enjoy the "days' minor victories" while freely touring around the country. Do with that what you will.

We're still promoting a record while the state systematically guts an entire population. A not so subtle reminder that a privileged reality is not actually reality.

With that said, "DSD" is streaming everywhere and Today's Minor Victories comes out Friday via @todo.records. We are playing two shows in Austin Thursday and Friday at @hitwatx

Video footage compiled and edited by @poonehghana

Find the streaming, video and ticket links in bio, of course

Ep472: Steve Pike (Porcelain, Exhalants)
Porcelain have just released their second record Today's Minor Victories a raucous and authoritative noise-rock/post-punk/post-hardcore whatever collection of songs sure to delight fans of Sonic Youth, Unwound, Blonde Redhead, Slint, etc. Steve has been on the show, but in the time after Exhalants and before Porcelain was a thing. Ep227 in 2021! So needless to say this is overdue. We talk about the formation of the band, playing in a two guitar band with Ryan and all the incredible work they have done as aband. The personal nature of the lyrics for this one. How Scott Evans recording process led to their best record yet. House music being played at the same volume as the bands between bands, the physical toll of live audio work, bombastic outros and millennial dread, walking somebody through life threatening crisis, challenging masculinity and sexual norms, writing a song while grieving his grandmother, and "I'm Going to Live Through This Apocalypse". it's a great far-reaching and deep conversation.
