Some of you know this already but I'm currently packing my things to leave Utah. I don't yet know where I'm going but you're welcome to follow along on Instagram as I travel across the country this spring and summer searching for the next place.

What I'll be looking for is a town that feels new and exciting. I want to find a place thriving so much that the pandemic was barely able to touch it. I'm picturing narrow streets and curves and angles and hills. I'm picturing warmth and greenery, dense with life. I'm picturing a place that when the daytime life goes to bed it's taken over by a new set of sounds, smells, people and creatures. I'm picturing multiple nightime food options. I'm picturing a sidewalk cafe in a neighborhood alive after 11:00 pm.

Utah has been very good to me. It's been a nurturing, safe place to comfortably explore my interests. There have been places & things to explore, there has been much beauty, and there has been much to learn. But I've felt around enough to have a fair idea of where the ceiling is now, and I want to see what else there is out there for me to do.

But know that I appreciate this state, this town, the special people and businesses that keep it interesting, and all the friends I've made over the 24 years since I chose Utah to stay for a bit. It's pretty special in a sleepy dreamland of relatively content culture to meet all these interesting people who are curious, creative, and inspiring.

And you never know... you may just see me back here again
