Beautiful family & dog-friendly winery in Melbourne’s Yarra Valley🍷🍇

We visited Tokar Estate, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like we’d stepped straight into the Italian countryside!

Think rolling vineyards, beautiful gardens, gorgeous views and a long, leisurely lunch in the sunshine ☀️

We had the most wonderful lunch on the shaded restaurant deck, overlooking the gardens and vineyards… we happily stayed there all afternoon!

What I love is that it’s a winery where you can enjoy a beautiful meal and wine tasting while the kids have SPACE to play! 🙌🏼

After lunch, we headed to the cellar door for a wine tasting while the kids enjoyed the outdoor space. And with plenty of shade and room to run around, it was such a lovely way to spend the afternoon! You can also enjoy snack plates at the cellar door if you’re not staying for a full lunch 😊

🍽️ Restaurant: Thursday–Sunday, 11:30am–5pm
🍷 Cellar Door: Monday–Friday, 10:30am–4pm | Weekends, 10am–5pm
💡 My tip: Book a table on the deck if the weather’s lovely! The views are BEAUTIFUL.

@tokarestate brings together Australian and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, local Yarra Valley produce, wine tasting and beautiful views across the surrounding vineyards.

The restaurant focuses on fresh ingredients, generous flavours and dishes made for sharing, and there’s also the chance to visit the cellar door and sample their range of wines, including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

We did it! Together, we raised more than $100,000 at the Treasure Chest Charity Masquerade Ball! 🎭

The masks looked incredible, the dancing shoes definitely got a workout, and we’re still smiling after an unforgettable night at the Plaza Ballroom!
Every raffle ticket, auction bid, donation and act of generosity contributed to this incredible result.

Always one of the liveliest venues at Shedfest - hosted by YVSWA President Dan Tokar, this family-friendly, inclusive, and welcoming vineyard is a stop you won't want to miss. ⁠

Leon and Rita Tokar bought the Coldstream property in 1995, when it was mostly thistles, tussock grass and snakes. Tokar Estate was the first in the Yarra Valley to plant Tempranillo, and it still makes it alongside Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay. ⁠

The kitchen is running a smokehouse for Shedfest. There's a 15-hour smoked beef brisket roll with Carolina slaw and pickles for $22, as well as pulled pork and a smoked mushroom and halloumi roll at the same price. A BBQ platter for two with brisket, pulled pork, jalapeno and cheese sausage and German potato salad is $40. ⁠
Hot jam donuts are $12 for a bag of four. ⁠

There's live music both days. Sunday kids' program: Face Painting 12 - 3pm / Petting Zoo 12pm - 4pm.⁠
