You start for the mirror. You stay for the identity shift. 🧠

Fitness isn’t just about changing how you look on the outside. It forces a complete rewiring of your habits, your discipline, your circle, and your standards. Everything else follows.

Save this for the days you need to remember why you started.

☀️ shining like the sun

💛 kept up my theme of wearing race shirts but picked wisely with short sleeves since it was 59°F at the start. This Tokyo Marathon tshirt is one of my favorites with a really cool design and great colors.

🌊 Lake Michigan was super calm and hardly anybody was on the beach. These are the best days when the air is crisp, the sun is bright, and the wind is quiet.

It’s official: I’m running the Tokyo Marathon on March 7, 2027! 🇯🇵

That’s star number 5 of my Six Star journey: New York, Chicago, London, Berlin… and now Tokyo, in its 20th anniversary year.

I earned my spot by fundraising for @action_mental_health, and thanks to every one of you who gave, that fundraiser is complete. 💛

Now the real work begins. 139 days to go. ⏳
