Multnomah County has spent 25 million+ on its deflection program, intended to connect people struggling with addiction to services instead of sending them to jail.

But is it actually getting people into treatment, recovery, and stable housing?

Former Multnomah County Commissioner and current County Chair candidate Dr. Sharon Meieran says the county is measuring activity instead of outcomes — counting how many people are dropped off or referred, rather than whether they actually receive the help they need.

And here's where it gets interesting.

Sharon says fellow commissioner Julia Brim-Edwards repeatedly voted to continue funding the program, despite concerns about its lack of accountability and measurable results.

Sharon isn't arguing against helping people. She's arguing that spending money isn't the same as solving a problem.

At what point do we stop funding programs that can't demonstrate results in Multnomah County?

All three candidates @sharonforchair @juliabrimedwardsforcountychair and @electshannonsingleton have pointed to the limits of a county commissioner's authority and the significant power held by the County Chair to make meaningful changes.

Each has a different approach. One very important election for Multnomah County. Who will actually deliver results?

🇫🇷 FRANCE vs. 🇵🇱 POLAND. TWO VERY DIFFERENT APPROACHES.

Poland has adopted a national immigration strategy focused on security, selective admissions, and stronger border enforcement. It has even temporarily restricted asylum applications at its Belarusian border.

France also has immigration controls, but continues to operate broader asylum and family reunification pathways.

And here’s the part people may find surprising: Poland actually issued MORE first residence permits to non-EU nationals than France did in 2025.

So no, the difference isn’t that Poland has zero immigration.

The difference is in HOW these governments approach immigration, border security, and national priorities.

And watching a demonstration supposedly about French classrooms become a sea of Palestinian flags raises a pretty obvious question:

Can a country address its own problems without every domestic protest becoming a platform for another political cause?

Because France’s students have legitimate issues worth discussing.

I’d just love to know when we’re getting back to talking about the schools. 🇫🇷

No kings protest in Wilsonville, Oregon 10-17-26. Check out some of these signs.

🇫🇷 Well, would you look at France’s next generation of distinguished scholars!

Our future brain surgeons, constitutional attorneys, nuclear physicists, and NASA-level astrophysicists have apparently taken a brief break from changing the world to intimidate a female journalist on live television.

And don’t miss the charming throat-slitting gesture. Such sophistication!

A woman is simply trying to do her job, reporting from the streets of Paris, while someone decides that threatening gestures toward the camera are an appropriate response.

This isn’t peaceful protest. It’s intimidation.

LAWLESSNESS IS NOT A CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENT.

🇫🇷 Absolutely heartbreaking.

Imagine pouring your heart, soul, savings, and years of hard work into building a business, only to watch it get ransacked by France’s finest doctors, lawyers, engineers, and astrophysicists.

I’m sure they’re just taking a quick break from saving lives, designing bridges, and exploring the cosmos.

ALL JOKES ASIDE.

This woman doesn’t deserve this. No business owner does.

And I’m sick of watching hardworking, law-abiding people pay the price for criminals who have absolutely ZERO respect for anyone else’s property.

This isn’t activism. It’s criminality. And it deserves consequences.

My heart breaks for this woman. 💔

🇫🇷 FRANCE IS DESCENDING INTO CHAOS.

Apparently, Bordeaux’s finest doctors, lawyers, engineers, and future Nobel Prize winners have taken a brief break from their prestigious careers to loot LOUIS VUITTON.

Because nothing screams economic hardship quite like helping yourself to a designer handbag.

Peaceful protest is a right. Theft, vandalism, and destroying someone else’s property are CRIMES.

This isn’t fighting for affordability. It’s criminal opportunism dressed up as activism.

LAW AND ORDER IS NOT OPTIONAL. 🇫🇷
