SUMMER STORM

The forecast was clear.

At least, that’s what it looked like from the outside.

Built from the nights that lasted too long, isolation, and the kind of distance you can’t explain even when you’re standing right next to someone.

It sounds like summer after the feeling is gone.

Like watching the sky go dark in the middle of summer, and realizing the storm had been there long before the clouds.

The storm was never really outside.

#summerstorm OUT NOW.

What a great ride it’s been making this. Experimenting with tones, sounds and structures that brought us back to our childhoods. @alessiadegasperis delivering beautiful songwriting paired with one of my favorite voices in music. Honored to have produced this with her😌

Musical Direction by yours truly 🙂‍↕️

What a special experience this was!! So many people who played an integral part in this experience to shoutout. This was one for the books!!

K, thank you as always for trusting me to execute this vision. I loved building this world with you and I’m so happy with the end result. You literally have the voice of an angel and I am so grateful to work with you every day. Definitely the coolest way ever to perform on stage with you for the first time. You know I love you!!

I also feel I’ve made a lifelong friend in Jamie Foxx, easily one of the warmest, most genuine, and authentically friendly people I’ve ever met. It was such a joy to work with you and Anelise on this performance, and you’ve gained a friend in me forever!!

@johnclarkmaythethird, my partner in crime, I literally could not have done this without you at all. Johnny and I did this arrangement together, and I cannot express to you enough how much I appreciate every long day and night we spent perfecting this thing. You are a dream to work with brother!!

@wyn.terlude absolutely crushed the vocal arrangement on this as well, another super long day and night that was absolutely worth it. The journey you and I have been on to this moment is really insane. I’m so glad you sat next to me at that rehearsal in 2018– how far we came!!!!

@finetales one of my favorite humans on this earth also came through with a ridiculous horn arrangement— I have always said and I’ll always maintain there are few more talented musicians in the world than you. She is the real deal!!

My orchestra for this performance was made up of family; old and new; and top tier professionals only. You guys made this so special!!!

@gil_duldulao creative directed this so incredibly well I cannot even begin to describe. Dream team!!

@j_n_fels @campbellyoung14 @jonthephenomenon @jeremiee2 @camlsloan made us sound so good, thank you all so much.

Huge thanks to @prsguitars @lindsaylovebivens for hooking Anelise and I up with the best guitars in the world 🎸

Hope you all enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed making it.

And now… time for tour 😈
