OUT NOW on @firstwordrecords!
‘Halal Cool J’, the new album by @don_leisure_darkhouse_family
•
Following on from the recent ‘Shaboo vs Halal Cool J’ 7”, and a similar vein to the highly-acclaimed 2017 beat tape, ‘Shaboo’, this is a 17-track journey across assorted chops, edits & turkish delights, crafted from digging expeditions across the world.
•
Recently Don Leisure has had guest mixes on KEXP Seattle, NTS & Balamii Radio, and was featured in Bonafide Mag. The single was Huey Morgan’s “beat of the week” on BBC 6 Music very recently, as well as receiving props ‘n’ plays from Lefto & Tom Ravenscroft, whilst the previous beat tape was heralded as “the best album of its kind since Dilla’s ‘Donuts’ “ by Piccadilly Records, Manchester.
•
Complete with a cover montage by @ral_duke (who's done work for Westside Gunn, Ghostface Killah etc), ‘Halal Cool J’ is out on vinyl & digital on MAY 3RD.
•
Mastered by @puttingitonwax
Layout by @tom_healan

We’re very pleased to present our next album, courtesy of @don_leisure_darkhouse_family (50% of Cardiff’s Darkhouse Family, along with @earljeffers). Following on from the recent ‘Shaboo vs Halal Cool J’ 7”, it’s time to unleash a full album from ‘HALAL COOL J’.
