Efficiency is key.

In any business.

Whilst we all like a chatty Charlie to shoot the breeze with, any business guru will tell you that cutting out the waffle, the fluff, the extraneous chit chat, is key to hitting your goals, your targets, your KPI’s.

And all of that nonsense.

Take birthday chap, @tom_pigot.

He has an extraordinary talent of speaking with direction, focus and intent.

“Hi, Dan. Let’s talk. We need to identify the specific measurable achievement indicators for the next step in our progression”

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Tom is, by far, one of the best direct speakers on our books. He means business and he has earned it. Talent, personality and drive.

However. It’s a sham. Because, despite him knowing EXACTLY what he wants to say, and how to achieve it, we end up chatting like two schoolyard gossips in the blink of an eye.

Of course, it sounds the part to anyone listening. And there is a lot of meat on them there bones.

But before we know it, we have lost half an hour and thoroughly enjoyed doing so.

So, in an efficient manner, let me wish Tom a happy birthday.

Don’t forget to add it to your spreadsheet.

Last Saturday we wrapped on Just Coffee, my debut written, directed and produced short film and I’m still taking it all in. What a stunning day for the final hurrah.

It takes a village and I was lucky enough to have an incredible one. This project only exists because of the entire cast and crew who brought it to life. I'm forever grateful for their talent, their time, and their belief in it.

Also huge love and appreciation to my family and friends who came in as background artists on our biggest day. It meant more to me than I can properly put into words.

I directed this with Dean who's not just a director on this but a brilliant collaborator and friend. He understood the vision and we share a madness which will fortunately mean much more work to come.

Massive thanks to Gerry Brauders for such phenomenal work. It was a privilege to work with you and have you as our lead and to now call you a friend.

Grateful for every moment of it ✨️

I’ll probably end up posting a part 2 because these first round of pics just don’t do it justice just fyi!

It’s not perfect but it’s something to behold … with @joywarner_irl project managing to the minute detail, @tompigotpaintings looking after all the fine tuning and yours truly as general labourer and concrete mixer it’s a satisfying 1st attempt at a concrete countertop - thanks @_harrisongardner @_m_a_k_i_n_g_ for the confidence to try something following my @common_k_ courses…
