Session 2 is here.

This 8-week strength program is designed for endurance athletes who already know strength matters — and are ready to progress it.

We’ll focus on:
• lifting heavier with intention and guidance
• building durability alongside endurance training
• strength that actually carries over to your sport

Session 2 starts January 12th and meets Mondays at 5:30 PM (in-person).

👉 To sign up, head to the link in my Instagram bio.

Not sure if this session is the right fit? Send me a message — I’m happy to help you decide.

Earlier this year I completed the ritual I do annually on my birthday: my personal best deadlift. I lifted 240 lbs for a set of 3.

But secretly, I had a different goal in mind. A more audacious goal. A goal I could not have dreamed of when I started my lifting journey.

My goal was to deadlift 250 lbs by the end of the year. Spoiler alert: I got to 255 lbs. 💪

I remember when I started deadlifting. I advanced in weight rapidly at first. Then it got harder and my increases were slower to come by.

One day my coach happened to mention “we’re getting there.” “Where?” I asked him. “200 lbs.” he answered.

Not one to hold back my thoughts, I told him he was crazy.

Soon after, I met a woman at one of my client’s companies who looked…normal. Not super muscled, not huge, not tiny. Normal. Just like me.

Turned out she was a powerlifter. We bonded over weight lifting, and she told me that she had just hit 300 lbs on her deadlift. I couldn’t believe it!

I told my coach about her, and he said “200 doesn’t seem so far away now, does it?” He was right. (You were right Tom @tombone .)

And 8 years after hitting 200 lbs, here is my 255 lb. deadlift.

A few takeaways I reflect on all the time.

🏋️‍♀️ Stronger legs. More power. Fewer injuries.

Our 8-week Strength Training for Endurance Athletes program is back! 🙌
We launched it last year, and it filled up fast — so we’re stoked to bring it back for another round.

This program is for runners, cyclists, and triathletes who know strength work matters but could use some guidance on what to do and how to make it fit their training. Over 8 weeks, we’ll lift smart, build a strong base for the off-season, and set you up to perform your best when race season rolls around again.

📅 Mondays at 5:30 PM
💪 Small group format — personalized coaching + accountability

Every year on my birthday I do a Personal Best deadlift.

Today’s was 5 sets of singles, 240 lbs (this is the first).

Last year around this time I had a nagging hamstring injury. I determined to not let it stop me, and I finally resolved it this year.

There is *nothing* more empowering than setting goals and driving towards them. There’s nothing more rewarding than continuing the journey of getting a little bit better every year.

And the journey of strength is a physical manifestation of that.

To lift heavier you have to handle mental blocks.

You have to work through setbacks.

And you have to show up with bone-crushing consistency, even when you don’t feel like it.

Real talk: I’m proud of what I’ve done so far. And I have a lot more to do.

Thank you for my incredible guides on the path, @tombone and @tobias229

Please join us on Sunday, Oct 5th at 11am we are hosting a self-defense class taught by Stephen Koepfer, lovingly known as Sambo Steve. LGBTQIA+ folx to the front!

It’s been my dream to host a self defense class and a screening of Artist Unknown. During my festival travels, I spoke with a lot of women and LGBTQIA+ folk who felt represented in some situations they had seen in the film. We talked about how important our personal safety is and everyone expressed interested in taking a self defense class.

I took my first self defense class in 2022. From there I started taking boxing classes at Outbox in Brooklyn and I’ve been there ever since. In these years training, I’ve felt more empowered, more comfortable in my body, and more willing to take up space.

Sambo Steve is one of our producers on Artist Unknown, a martial arts expert, stunt choreographer and performer, hosts the podcast Film Fights with Friends, and badass human.

Please join us if you’ve never taken a class or want or need a refresher. We have space for the first 10 people who RSVP through our partiful which include the location. The class is NOT at Unicorn Bar. Link in bio.
