Last summer I was dropped into a whirlwind—ten weeks to make a short film with @darrenaronofsky using AI. What unfolded was one of the most chaotic, beautiful, challenging, and quietly life-altering stretches of my career.

Out of that storm came Ancestra (link in bio): a film born from @elizamcnitt ’s own traumatic birth, rendered as a surreal, poetic vision inside the body and out through the cosmos. A hybrid of live-action and generative AI, stitched together with equal parts precision and delirium. We premiered at Tribeca in June, and still feeling half-dazed from the journey.

This October, Eliza and I presented the film at the Ciclope Festival in Berlin—sharing both the story and the strange, intricate process behind it. To our gratitude, the project was recognized with the Gold honor at the event. 🙏

For me, it marks a shift—a new way of thinking and working. There’s a lot of noise about “AI slop,” but I’ve never been more convinced of the potential inside these tools.

A massive, massive shoutout to the unbelievable team who poured their souls into this thing. It almost broke us, but these kind and brilliant humans held each other up:

…and so many more whose IG handles have escaped into the ether. lol.

For the showcase… we already know what we can do the best, what we enjoy the most and what we are the most confident of. However, it never means that we are the best in the world, it means we simply do what we do. Which also means timeless haircuts and quality time as well!

So basically we just enjoyed our thing and hopefully people enjoyed watching us play!

We truly appreciate everyone for stopping by our very first pop up barbershop as team Dive at Dickies store in Carnaby street.

Barbershop is not just a place only for a haircut, it’s our community and it’s our culture club, IT IS SIMPLY WHERE WE WANT TO GO!

It’s all love 🤎
