We’re mashing up 1970 Topps Baseball ⚾️ today with Forest Gump!🍿 In the movie, Gump’s heroic Vietnam rescue scene was inspired by the real-life actions of Medal of Honor recipient Sergeant First Class Sammy L. Davis.🎖️ During a massive 1967 midnight ambush, an injured Davis single-handedly manned a burning artillery gun to hold off enemy forces. Despite suffering a broken back and not knowing how to swim, he then used a leaky air mattress to paddle across a river canal and rescue three wounded comrades. The film even used real archival footage of Davis’s medal ceremony, digitally superimposing Tom Hanks’s face onto his body! 🫡 #forrestgump #tomhanks #baseballcards #thehobby #topps

I had the privilege of spending an August morning with Jimbo Meador (“the Bodhisattva of the Bay”) at his home in Point Clear, Ala., for the latest CURRENTS cover story. Jimbo is a man from another time whom we are lucky to have in our own. His story reads like one long picaresque on the water, and his lifelong conservationist ethic has been a guiding force at @mobilebaykeeper for some time. Jimbo inspired the character of Forrest Gump in his friend Winston Groom’s novel (sans the dimwittedness), and Tom Hanks, somewhat famously, based his Gump voice on Jimbo’s in the Hollywood adaptation. At any rate, his life makes for some fascinating tales. Link to read in bio, and please consider joining Mobile Baykeeper to receive the magazine and support Baykeeper’s efforts to defend and revive our waters. 📸: @courtneyremason #jimbomeador #flyfishing #forrestgump #pointclear #mobilebaykeeper

🎬 WHAT IF TERMINAL 2? — WHEN A REAL AIRPORT EXPERIENCE FEELS LIKE A MOVIE. ✈️ What happens when a journey you planned with excitement turns into an experience you never expected? I want to share my personal experience involving Emirates Airlines, where I say I was denied boarding as the check-in counter was closing, though I reached at the Hamburg Airport before time and standing in the queue for more than an hour. For a passenger, travelling is more than just reaching a destination. It is about dignity, communication, understanding and being treated fairly when a difficult situation arises. The title draws a creative parallel with the film The Terminal, while this video tells my own story and raises questions about the real-world passenger experience. 🎯 MY QUESTIONS TO EMIRATES: ✈️ Was every reasonable option communicated clearly? ✈️ Can Emirates review this incident and provide a transparent explanation? 🇮🇳🇩🇪 A REQUEST FOR VISIBILITY I respectfully invite Emirates, the Embassy of India in Berlin, the Indian community in Germany, aviation commentators and the creative team behind The Terminal to watch, share and engage with this story. My intention is to seek clarity, accountability and a constructive response—not to target individuals. Every passenger deserves clear communication and a fair opportunity to understand their options. 📢 PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO. Help this story reach the people and organisations who can review it and respond. #fyp #viral #reach #engagement #actor

• Saving Private Ryan (1998) VHS - regular box - SweSub I want movies to be a entertaining escape from reality and this is not it. Unfortunately, war has been the reality for some people and it's not entertaining. There was a really funny moment in the film though, and it's when they "finally find private Ryan". Verdict: This is a really good movie, no, it's great. The story is exciting too. - #VHS #StevenSpielberg #MovieCollector #WarMovie #WWII
