golden poppy - a mother and daughter dodge creditors and a sugar daddy down the golden coast into a feverish night of karaoke and unraveling. for a broke mother 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, the open road does not represent freedom, but a tunnel leading to further confinement.

@stefanvleming shot the film dogme style, all handheld and practical lighting (except the karaoke scene which has a sprinkle of movie magic).

@rawhoneystudios and i have been “playing in the sandbox” together since 6th grade drama class. needless to say, she touched every part of this film creatively and technically… improvising lines with me until they landed, “manifesting” money for cvs manicures and crafties, and then passing hard drives back and forth etc

we’re in the process of submitting to festivals and wanted to shoutout the village for making this possible

It’s a compilation of VHS footage taken at our first show/Bret’s birthday party in August 2025. Give it a watch and subscribe if you haven’t already!
