Coming up for air after a densely packed summer to say thank you for the incredible birthday week I got to experience last week! So many surprises (including a surprise party!) hearing from friends near and far, and getting to hug so many people I love and don’t get to see enough of. I can’t say thank you enough for all the beautiful gestures of love and friendship, and if for some reason we couldn’t connect, I think you actually are allowed to celebrate for at least a month, so there’s still time! Thank you to my Moulin Rouge string sisters for a beautiful luncheon and to my amazing colleagues at the show for pampering me with a spa day (what?! Omg) and for my KIISS family for a beautiful week of chamber music, and to all my friends who took time out of their busy lives to make me feel so loved! Special thanks to @kikuindaface for hauling two amazing cakes to the theatre so I would have no shortage of treats! And I just so appreciate all the texts, cards, and good wishes that came my way. I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to be part of a such a cool community of artists like yourselves - thanks for ushering me into this next phase of life!

Just finished my incredibly long recording day… spent 6.5 hours in Power Station and later did another 2 hours and 15 minutes of recording in Maspeth, Queens. Grateful for the work, and even more grateful to work among friends! Here’s a photo dump of the Power Station sesh today. Daniel Kluger @danielklugermusic wrote some incredibly beautiful music, which I was lucky enough to record solo violin parts for. Looking forward to listen to the finished product, and YOU should look out for it too!

Wrapping up the Persona 5 Big Band tour, I keep coming back to how much the people shape the experience.

Thank you Tomo & Charlie for inviting me into this world, and for building so much of it through your leadership and arrangements. This tour quite literally would not have happened for me without both of you.

Coming in as one of the newer members, I never took for granted how warmly everyone welcomed me. The music was great, the audiences were incredible, and getting to travel across Asia was something I’ll remember for a long time—but the friendships, conversations, meals, and hours spent simply hanging out are what made the whole thing feel memorable.

I’ve always liked the idea that travel is an antidote to ignorance. I came home knowing a little more about places I had never been, people I had never met, and how much larger the world is than the version of it we carry in our heads.

A very meaningful few weeks. Thank you to everyone who made it what it was.

Persona 5 tour of Asia was absolutely incredible!! I’m still processing it all and will be forever. We were all over the map with very close friends and made some very special new ones all while playing for sold out audiences every night. The genius of @crosenmusic is beyond words. All I can say is I’m so grateful, uplifted and completely fried from this tour where I lived 10 lives in three weeks. Super hard to choose the photos from it but I tried to find a few that haven’t been posted yet…..more to come, but for now enjoy!! Whewwwww….

3.5 weeks. Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, Hiroshima.

I can’t begin to describe what an incredible experience this tour was. Back in December of last year I was fortunate to go to Japan for 9 days and play a series of shows showcasing the music of Persona 5, under the direction of @crosenmusic. I had no idea it would lead to this.

We just got back from an almost month long tour of Asia with that same band, and I can’t believe it’s over. I got to go to countries I’ve never been to with some of my best friends in the entire world, and I’ve met so many amazing people and musicians and over the course of the tour, we all became a family. This has truly been the greatest tour I’ve ever done, and I will cherish these memories forever.

I wanna shout out @miyashiro.eric for supplying his incredible Japanese big band, those ladies and gentlemen are the real deal, and some of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of meeting and calling friends and peers. @lyn_inaizumi was our incredible lead vocalist and the voice of Persona 5, and it was an honor to work with you and become your friend! Also huge shout out to @aya_m_k and her tireless work as our tour manager. Thank you for keeping us in check and making this impossibly complicated tour so easy, fun and memorable for all of us! And thank you to everyone who came out to these shows to support this music across 6 countries, y’all are the reason that we get to have experiences like this, we couldn’t do it without you!

It’s truly impossible for me to put into words what this tour has given me, but the gratitude I feel for everyone involved is unlimited. Thank you all so much for this, I can’t wait to do it again!!!

We had so much freaking fun! Persona 5 Special Bit Band Tour! Here’s just a few photos for proof! There will be more! ❤️❤️❤️ love all these people!

So much to say about all this but I want to quickly shout out our fearless leader @crosenmusic for making this all happen and putting together incredible arrangements of all this music and leading with humility and integrity every step of the way, along with all the wonderful folks at @54entco for managing the best tour ever - special huge shout to @aya_m_k for watching our backs and making sure we didn’t do anything too stupid in each country we went to (to say the very least)….. you can be the judge whether she succeeded or not 😜😝😂, all those tour vlogs were her work!!! Wouldn’t have been the same without her! Also Boy Phiboon and Asaka Watanobe were so so cool every step of the way. Keita Korematsu leading the tour managing like a champ! @miyashiro.eric for playing his face off night after night, bringing the BEST vibe, and putting together an absolutely rock solid group of the best Japanese horn players to play with us. Just awesome people involved all around, and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the new and old friends!

I didn’t take nearly enough photos of food or scenery, but I did take a lot of photos with friends — which honestly says a lot about what’s been most memorable.

They make every city, every travel day, and every show so much more joyful and memorable ❤️
