I wish I were a better wordsmith…

Over a year of my life and I have to admit, I’m proud of all of us….

And excited to do it again…this fall.

I can only tag 20 people, so thanks again to @bonging.science @peotreks_workshop @julian_pace_bonello @shananagins01 @heatherannsaunders and everyone else who helped out. 🙏🙏🙏

Doorway nine and ten, day one.

I’ve done some reconfiguring, because I absolutely have zero interest in painting all these bricks again, I’m sorry, but I can’t…

I’m super excited about the details in this side and all the great art…..😍😍😍

Thanks again to @tompepper for taking such great photos last summer. 🙏👏🏽

And instagram is frustrating for music sometimes….Mary Margaret O’Hara, sister to Catherine and possibly one of my favourite Canadian singers. Go find her…….sooooo good.

I believe something magical happened in august at the old studebaker factory.

I’m so very grateful….for everyone who’s been here with me.

I feel changed.
Thank you.

@tompepper took the most wonderful pictures on Saturday. I still can’t stop smiling from all the after glow of the day, although that may be heat stroke. 🥵

I met the greatest people and worked with some of the best artists in Ontario. I can’t wait to do it again. I’m thinking the dead of winter would be a lovely contrast…with hot chocolate, mulled wine and snowsuits. 🤔🤷

I am so excited to paint this….all these wonderful little details and the brightest, most exquisite colours with the tiniest of brushes.

I went back to the building today. I sat there alone on the steps, I walked all the way around, I touched pieces still up, and got my face real close. I found all the bits that make me eager to sit at my easel again.

I can’t find the words to express the gratitude I feel for everyone who participated, or pitched in to help, or who came by to show support. People are marvellous…because up until recently I was a stranger to most of them.

I’m in awe of you all.
Thank you.

Soooooo…who wants to curate the next one??? 🤔😍😉

P.S. Could someone please send me pictures of @jdhowell and @rachelkienitz stunning pieces? I barely took any pictures yesterday and I only have glimpses of their work. Please and thank you.

Taking a moment to reflect on a little over one year of doing @places.wav—what started as a cheeky weekly radio slot has grown into something I still can't quite describe. Thank you for contributing a mix, listening on-air, dancing with us, joining workshops, goofing around behind the decks, and being together, near or far.

So grateful to have seen and be part of so many new friendships and collaborations just because of running the Places’ programming. From programming the weekly mix; presenting our workshop; getting people engaged on Discord; and dancing together in the same space.

A lot of the work isn’t really about the music, but the people we do it with. (Re)socializing the way we listen to music, instead of being a passive consumer in this streaming era—making music personal, local, and social again.

A year gone just like the novelty of it. Interested to hear what you think! What can we START doing? What should we STOP doing? What should we KEEP doing?
