Back to Beauty School

A new term of beauty, featuring my forever tiny intern (and his stellar use of Sisley’s unparalleled new liquid liner), our adventures, a brilliant kids only beauty launch with arts and crafts (more please!), his spelling beginnings, my new hair (and the line up to save it) and his curly bag to put it all in.

Plus, THE (banana bread) coffee that all the kids drink, and a rare moment to myself at Maison Sisley.

A week has past on one of the best nights ever. Still can’t believe it, still feels weird but I won 2 @aushairfashionawards Educator of the year and NSW/ACT hairdresser of the year 🤯
I feel lucky to have the people I have in my life and corner.
To be in a room and in finalist categories with people you respect, have learnt from and grown with is something I’ll never forget.

Thanks to everyone who has reached out and celebrated allllll the martini’s with me after the awards. I feel like I’ve had a giant hug all week, and if you know me you know I love a hug 🩵

I think it’s safe to say that this year hasn’t exactly been my year (see last pic)… and with hospital appointments galore, getting through (and quite frankly, just surviving) has been my main focus.

So at the end of January, just weeks after getting ill, working on 100 pages for a special summer beauty edition of @cosmopolitanuk - curating, writing and editing it alongside my small but mighty team - could have easily tipped me over the edge. But weirdly, it did the opposite. This project became such an escape, and a reminder of why I love what I do so, so much.

Feeling very proud 🤍 thank you @keeksreid and @urmipandit_ for being the best people to work alongside this with - truly couldn’t have asked for better while running on vibes and questionable stomach stability. We smashed it. Not to mention all the other contributors - our incredible editors, sub-editors, designers, PRs, experts - you know who you are!

Some may say blood, sweat and tears went into this, but I’d also like to add nausea, vomiting and a hell of a lot of medication x

Seamless transformation by @tomsmithhd

Beginning with a complete colour and tone correction, followed by a seamless hybrid extension application.

Tom fitted 22 inch Injection Tapes in colours T5-5/55 and 55 combined with 24 inch Flat Tips in colours 9/55 and 55 .

To create a more bespoke placement, Tom customised the Flat Tips to half their size for an even more discreet finish.
