The old guard is still setting the standard!

The Arsonist sounds like a band that still has absolutely nothing to prove, yet somehow plays like they do. It’s raw, aggressive, dirty and packed with riffs that actually have character. No overproduced modern gloss, no forced attempt to sound younger and no chasing whatever is currently popular in metal. And that’s exactly why it works.

Hot take: Sodom sound hungrier on The Arsonist than a lot of bands half their age.

You can have youth, perfect production and technical ability. If the riffs don’t hit and the attitude isn’t there, none of it matters. Where do you rank The Arsonist among Sodom’s later albums?

#flashbackfriday to Surfin‘ Bird at Teatro Flores in Buenos Aires with Sodom about three years ago. Our trusted drumtech @friedrich.adalbert took a sneaky video from behind the backline 😬 the classic cover is taken from M-16 and was quite a show stopper every time!
Props to the insane Argentinian crowd 🔥⚔️🔥
I‘m currently digging up a lot of stuff from the past years, so there’s more to come!

#tbt with some behind the scenes footage from the Arsonist Sessions at König-Ludwig Tonstudio in Recklinghausen with our producer @sebel_offiziell
As you can see in slide 3, quite a lot of cigarettes have been harmed during the process 😂
We had a great time with Sebel, he and Toni made for a superb production team 🔥⚔️🔥
