Many of you may not know this, but earlier this year I found myself with a little extra margin in my schedule. A dear friend invited me out on the road, gave me a seat at the table, and allowed me to learn from a level of leadership, excellence, and execution I hadn’t experienced up close before. What started as a chance to fill some extra space in my calendar became one of the most educational seasons of my career. I’m incredibly grateful for the trust, generosity, and wisdom shared along the way. Here are a few lessons I’m taking with me 🩷

1) Tour Showers are NOT USUALLY glamorous, even at major stadiums. Bring shower shoes or worst-case, use a towel to stand on 🄓

2) When God asks you to create something, do it. Be a Noah in a world full of Sauls. Noah heard God’s voice asking him to do something seemingly foolish: to build the Ark. He listened and DID IT. I’m sure he looked crazy for many years, building a large boat while people laughed at him. I’m sure he lost a lot of friends, or didn’t have many friends in general. But when the rain came, Noah was ready, and he saved his family and enabled us to continue the human race (and saved the animals!). I didn’t know that creating my Artist Founder Course would result in being hired to work alongside the best in the business, but it did. Be faithful with things you think are small and show up on time to events when you are invited (don’t be lazy, don’t stay home).

3) God’s timing is perfect. I went through an extremely difficult relational and professional loss earlier this year and 3 weeks later, God brought me the opportunity to work alongside someone who called me higher. I was stripped of something I thought would last forever, and it created space for God to bring in something I couldn’t have imagined having the privilege to work on. Don’t forget: God only allows pain when purpose can come from it. When God allows the wine-press of life to squeeze you, it is to create wine. He does not waste pain.
