Another participant who crossed the finish line with his commitment to create 84 works of art in 84 days!

That’s what I call prolific!

And this is someone with a wife, kids, and running two very successful business,

Plus he’s an endurance athlete.

When I asked him what switched once he locked in on his commitment, he said he just spent less time scrolling.

We don’t realize how much empty time we eat up scrolling.

And if we put ourselves into a situation where we were truly committed to our calling,

We would find the time!

Heritage Trail to Nowhere 24-Hour Run

Join us for the Heritage Trail to Nowhere 24-Hour Run, a low-key, community-driven ultra on the Heritage Trail in Camas.

This is a fatass-style event:
   •   No entry fee
   •   No prizes
   •   Minimal support
   •   Just running and good company

Course
   •   Out-and-back 5K
   •   1.5 miles west, then back
   •   Run one loop or keep going for the full 24 hours. Your call.

What to expect
   •   No timing mats. Laps tracked on the honor system.
   •   No fancy aid stations. We’ll have water, but it’s cupless. Bring your own bottle.
   •   Restrooms available at the start area.
   •   Come and go as you please. Run a few miles or test yourself all day.

Respect the trail
Leave no trace. If you can, leave it better than you found it.

This is a relaxed, no-pressure event for runners of all levels.
Chasing a personal best or just out for a social run, you’re welcome.

Come run, hang out, and make some miles with us.

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Strawberry Fields 100 never disappoints.

I ended up with 85 miles in just under 30 hours. My original goal was 100 miles in under 30 hours. When that shifted, the next goal became simple: relentless forward progress for 30 hours. Given the lack of quality training leading up to this race, I’m more than happy with that.

This race was a measuring stick to see where I stand as I head into Javelina Jundred training. And it’s obvious I’ve got work to do before October.

But that’s not why this race is my favorite. It has nothing to do with my performance.

Every year, Strawberry Fields reminds me that there is more good in the world than evil. The camaraderie here is unmatched.

@theantipriced paced @noahgoodwintraining for 50 miles to help him break Caleb’s own PR. I had my wife and friends some I’ve only known a few months with me all day and through the night helping me move forward. David Cobos drove over an hour at 9 p.m. just to do night loops with me even after him finishing the #tahoe200 last weekend. @ckhyker showed up at 2 a.m. because she new I could use a friend at that time, she paced me for 13 hours.

Friends most of whom I met on the trail came back after running their own races, just to keep me company, bring me coffee, and even break down my camp so I could keep going.

The kindness and selflessness of these people blows me away.

The race director and the volunteers most of whom never take a break are badass too.

It was wet. It was cold. It was windy. It was hot.
And I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

It was an honor to share miles with such badass people, all locked into shared suffering. Thank you to everyone for the miles and words of encouragement. And thank you to my daughter for driving me home.

Our first wreath class was this Friday, and it was so much fun! Thank you all for hanging out and getting sappy with us! It’s always such a joy to see how different the finished products are, and to get a glimpse into each student’s personal design style. And the best part is always the fun conversation and laughter while we get covered in sap and make something beautiful! 🥰

Today is literally my first Saturday in over a month where I have been able to make a cup of coffee, sit on the couch, and do, well, nothing. It feels odd. It is even odder that I want to re-live the Saturday I experienced with my teammates three weeks ago. All the pain. All the joy. All of the adventure. All of the unknown. Take me back.
