POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We closed HURRICANE DIANE yesterday. 🌿💚 I feel so profoundly grateful to have been part of this story and part of this team of exceptional and exceptionally lovely people.

Last year after playing The Void, I had asked the universe for a new type of challenge: to play a character full of complexities, soft, with vulnerabilities, and capacity for growth and hoo lawdy did the universe/Annie Lareau provide. Through Beth, I know myself better; though loving her, I love myself better.

Working with Jesica, Vahishta, Jenn and Rhonda has been an absolute dream. What a gift to learn from each of you, and what a thrill to play together. Thank you to Natasha and Shana for dedicating time and energy to be ready to cover us so the show could go on.

Thank you Annie and Zandi for guiding us, supporting us, inspiring us to tell this story and bring these characters to life. Thank you to all of our designers for crafting this world and bringing the hurricane to life. Thank you Kristin and Riley for keeping the show running smoothly and all your support backstage.

Hurricane Diane is layered, sharp, profound, silly, confrontational, full of characters who are imperfect and full of contradictions. It is about many things, but a big takeaway for me is that the time for change is NOW, and compromise is essential to saving our world from ourselves. It asks of us, What have we done? What can we do?

March oh March.

I closed my solo show at @seattlepublictheater and then immediately got sick or maybe it was seasonal allergies. (Just glad it held off till after we closed.) We unexpectedly got snow! I saw Hurricane Diane directed by @annielareau and assistant directed by @zandi_carlson with the most amazing cast and designers. It is so freaking good and funny. Go see it if you haven’t already. River started playing indoor soccer. I acted in a short film for the @disabilityfilmchallenge. And we started a big renovation on our back yard to make it more accessible.

Hello, April.

Happy holidays from the past two weeks! From Bedford Falls with Santa (notice that Santa recommends "Li" @sis.productions co-pro with Seattle Public Theater in association with Yun Theatre), my mom enjoying Black Nativity, Celebrating women at Washington Women's Foundation's pop-up event, birthday/surprise engagement party, and our Office holiday spread. Happy holidays to you!

Got to spend my birthday weekend in Seattle with my family up North. It was a brief stay but I learned so much about where my sister grew up, and how it has changed over the decades. Piroshky Piroshky was delicious, along with the cafe runs and Italian food. It was amazing getting to spend quality time. I am grateful to have gone!

Walken The Walk 💛 #HappyValentinesDay to all my loves where ever you are at: Partnered, Single, Poly, Married, Divorced, Separated, Seeking, Solid in your Solitude, Heartbroken, In Sickess and In Heaith, and everywhere in between- You have touched me in many ways, and shown up for me, listened, held me down, talked me off cliffs, taken my good (and bad) advice and still we are friends. There have been times when we have watched each other struggle, laughed out loud together, celebrated our wins, and licked wounds together, called each other out and in, and even wondered if we’d ever see each other again. But it is all there and I am here with you. I continue to be in love with all of you in all the ways, and in all the moments, and disappointments, and triumphs that we have shared. You are my forever valentines. I send you light, love, and celebrate you my funny valentines cause at the end of the day, we are nothing if not hilarious when you pick up the phone or remember that time together. Call me if we have not connected lately. I’d love to hear your voice. You know who you are.

Special Thanks to these valentines of late: @cafeaulaitole, @wesleyfruge, @siviesuckerman

Today was a day of growth and recognizing the paths to take to do no harm. I am loved by many who have seen me struggle through blame, anger, and distraction before I could begin to love who I am again.

thanks to each of these ones who have been there through my ongoing journey of love + acceptance, given me time, care, and wisdom when I did not have it for myself • you know who you are.
