Big news from the shop!
We’re proud to welcome Gregg Brewer to the team — one of the most respected names in the world of professional saw building and race chain performance.
Gregg brings over 50 years of combined experience falling massive old-growth timber in Oregon and Alaska, along with decades of building high-performance saws and championship-level race chains. Gregg learned directly from the legendary Ace Morgan himself and has built saws and race chains for some of the world’s best, including Nate Hodges, who currently holds the STIHL Timbersports Hot Saw world record with a time of 4.28 seconds.
At Ripsaw, we’re combining modern CNC technology with decades of old-school engine-building knowledge to push high-performance saws even further. Gregg’s experience building elite-level race saws and chains by hand — using manual mills, lathes, and hand-porting techniques — paired with our advanced CNC manufacturing capabilities creates a blend of craftsmanship and precision that few in the industry can offer. From world-record race setups to professional timber cutting applications, this is the next evolution of performance saw building.
This partnership brings together generations of knowledge, innovation, and hands-on experience that will help shape the future of high-performance saws and race chains.
Having someone with Gregg’s background, reputation, and experience join the crew is a huge step forward, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
Welcome to the team, Gregg!

❓️What is the 2025 New Years Dash you ask? Simple, to help set the tone for 2026 and make the first donation of the year to the BFP not only a sizable one, but a true community effort, the Biddeford Buzz is pledging $50 per day for each of the 31 days of December, totaling in a donation amount of $1550.00. CATCH! New trend tossing your face lol.
Always fun doing that. Chopping down a few pines today making some room in a campground. We try to do this kind of work pre season so there is less possible risk with all of the people and things around but you have to do it when their ready sometimes. If your going to have fun on the job site, timing is everything. There is a time to have fun and a time to be serious. This is dangerous and important work and should be handled as such. But you should enjoy it! Just a little side note.

💥 150 feet of burned fury coming down in Naches, WA! 💥
When a monster Ponderosa pine starts leaning over the mountainside, there’s no “maybe later.” You move — fast and precise.

We set the face cut, stuffed the wedge, and sent it flying like thunder through the canyon. 🌲⚡
One perfect drop. No drama. No hesitation. Just Uribe’s precision in full effect.

That’s what separates the pros from the pretenders.
We don’t hope the tree falls right — we make sure it does.

One of our favorite cuts for smaller diameter trees that have a funky lean to how you want them to fall, “the Palm Tree Cut 🌴” this technique allows wedges to pass through the hinge to help the feller get extra lift but there are a few cautionary things you need to know before you go trying this cut.

“It’s not so important how a tree comes does but just that it is down and the property and the people are safe…When the video gets posted online, that is when the mentality shifts and the focus is placed on the wrong thing. Remember, 90 secs or less is not much and it’s impossible to get all the context. If your going to put tree videos up, just be ready for the crowd.”
