The adventure of Hyperion Origin at the iLumen European Solar Challenge 2026 was about much more than 24 hours of racing. ☀️🏁 It started perfectly: we became the first team to pass static scrutineering, with all the improvements made to the vehicle working as planned. ✅ The next day was a completely different story. After a strong morning test session, Hyperion Origin stopped unexpectedly. During qualifying, the same issue happened again, twice. On the way back to the pit, the brakes locked, overheated, and we suffered a brake failure without having the necessary spare parts. Luckily, @mosafrein stayed beyond their working hours to help us with the parts we were missing to rebuild the brakes, while @tucn_racingteam helped us rebuild our calipers and bleed the brake system, leaving us just enough time to still complete a short testing session at night. ♥️ The next morning, the solar array was not producing properly and, shortly before the race, our power supply failed. A huge thank you to @topdutchsolarracing for lending us your power supply, we truly couldn’t have done it without you. 💚 With only minutes left before the start, we were still working on the car. We missed the official start and joined from the pit lane, already one lap behind. ⏱️ From there, Hyperion Origin faced everything: sun, rain, wind, and constantly changing weather. 🌦️ Our drivers kept pushing, our strategy team adapted throughout the race, and our mechanics completed two fast wheel changes to keep us moving. 🔩🏎️ 24 hours later: 248 completed laps, 8th place out of 23 teams overall, and Romanian National Champions in the Challenger Class. 🇷🇴🏆 A result built by an entire team that refused to stop when things went wrong. We proved that it can be done and that we can go even further. Team SOLIS. ☀️🏁 The journey continues. 🚀 #solisutcn #ilumeneuropeansolarchallenge #sun #engineering #cars

One year ago, we took on the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge - an experience we’ll never forget. ☀️🏎️ From meeting people and making friends from around the world, to becoming closer as a team, we all worked towards one goal: crossing that finish line. While we may not have technically made it to the finish line, we made it to Adelaide - and what we gained along the way was so much more important. We learnt new skills, we challenged ourselves, overcame obstacles and we grew into better versions of ourselves. To celebrate one year since the challenge, we’re sharing some photos that have never been seen before. 📸 Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. And if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, applications for the DUST 2027 are open NOW. The link is in our bio - so trust us, you don’t want to miss this one. 🌏☀️ #deakinuniversity #engineering Does this look like something you would be interested in?

TDSR Team ’25 has closed their chapter at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. After 1.5 years of relentless work, their Green Falcon journey ended just before the finish line. Though the result was a DNF, their resilience and teamwork shine brighter than any podium. We’re proud of these innovators from the TopDutch region and look forward to their comeback at the iLumen European Solar Challenge 2026 and World Solar Challenge 2027. 🌍☀️ #TopDutch #SolarRacing #innovations

It’s been one week since the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge came to an end, and... 🥳We want to take a moment to congratulate every single team that took part in this event! It’s incredibly inspiring to see so many students from around the world dedicating time to designing, building, and racing solar-powered cars across one of the harshest environments in the world. This year, nine teams (!) competed with Mito Solar decks or components✨, and we’re proud to have supported them on their journey. Collaborating with these teams enables us to develop the latest solar technologies and stay at the forefront of these high-end innovations. And this year, we even had the opportunity to witness the results live and celebrate them, seeing the teams cross that finish line in real time!🏁 Thank you, and congratulations to all the teams: you’ve achieved something truly incredible🏅. And for this upcoming period, we’re always excited to support the next generation of solar racers... so don’t hesitate to get in touch about your next deck! 📷 1, 4, 6, 9: @sonnenwagenaachen @chalmerssolarteam @solarteam_be @solarteamtwente @worldsolarchallenge . . . #bwsc25 #solarcars #australia #outback #solartechnology #solarcell #solardeck #pv
