After 10+ years of Ibiza, including one summer actually living here, I thought I knew this island pretty well.
And maybe that was exactly the problem.
Over the last three summers, since moving to Berlin, I found myself coming back with a lot of prejudice - about the music, the people, the places, the whole Ibiza experience. My standards had become higher, my taste more selective.. but somewhere along the way, I had also become a little cynical and snobbish.
So this time, I decided to forget everything I thought I knew.
To come here as if it was my first time.
And somehow, the island met me there.
I discovered new places. New music. New people. New beaches. New parts of myself.
I reconnected with nature - and with the source - in a way I hadn’t experienced before.
I got even closer to my best friend. Made incredible new friendships. Found myself saying yes to unexpected opportunities - from being invited to exhibit my work in Berlin to being invited to play on the island itself.
And somewhere between all the beautiful unexpected moments, I realized that Ibiza still had so much left to show me.
The last thing I expected from this trip was to be transformed.
But here I am.
Recharged. Inspired. More open. With new people in my life, new ideas in my head, and more light in my eyes.
A reminder that sometimes, all you need is to let go of what you think you know - and allow life to surprise you.
Thank you, Ibiza.
For reminding me how beautiful it is to stay curious.
Whenever. Wherever.
