having my birthday on NYE always brings about a double sort of reflection. the year ends & i’m a year older.
23 brought about so much change. i got to see so many new places (& return to some of my favorites), saw new artists in concerts & my favs again, met some amazing new friends & strengthened friendships with people that mean so much to me.
above all, i was able to go full time with photography—something that’s been scary, hard, but also brought so much joy. every single day i’m astounded that i get to make art for a living.
this isn’t to say that 2025 wasn’t a hard year. i’ve faced my fair share of discouragement, comparison, & pretty immense mental health struggles. there are 2 things i can confidently say helped me to get through those more than anything else.
the first is Jesus. ever faithful, ever loving, & forever someone i can lean on. God has placed people in my life at just the right time & is sometimes the only thing that keeps me going. i hope 2026 involves an even deeper relationship with Him.
the second is @matthewchisholm_, my best friend & one of my greatest blessings. matthew is so steadfast & has stayed by my side through everything this year. he’s encouraging and believes in me even when i don’t believe in myself. he’s funny & kind & perfect to me in so many ways. matthew, thank you for being my best friend the past 2 years; i’m so excited for another year of adventures with you.

to everyone that made my 2025 meaningful, i’m so grateful for you. here’s to more joy in 2026, moving to a new state, like 5 concerts & so many cool new places planned already!! i can’t wait!! 🤍
