Goodbye Summer. So many faces. So many memories. Too many to share. sea salt in my hair. Lambrusco in my stomach.
sand in my shoes. sweat on the dance floor. playbills on the wall.
midnight conversations. morning-after laughter. a few beautiful accidents. and the strange feeling that it all happened at once.

Pride was a riot. What is it now? Why do we need it?

To close out Pride Month, our very own @tommylapidese wrote about his experience going to Outloud @wehopride as a Queer person, and about what Pride means to the LGBTQ community: “‘freedom’ was the festival’s form and its function, a unifying ethos of queerness if there ever was one.” 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

He also gave us a breakdown of how Pride began, how it transformed “from being a celebration of visibility to a form of direct action” during the AIDS crisis, and how it became the international festival phenomenon it is today - and whether that can coexist with Pride’s revolutionary roots. 🫆🧱🎉
