My forever sweetheart sisters💞
I truly cannot put it into words how much who all have changed my life.
Every single one of you have left an impact on me that I will never forget. I’m so grateful for you all.
Being surrounded by this group of women truly altered my outlook on life.
From Alabama’s talent to Wisconsin’s state costume, you all have truly exceeded my expectations from Sweetheart week.
So thank you. Thank you for the hugs, the changing room laughs, the late night talks, picking me up when I literally fell, helping with my talent and most importantly, loving Rachel for who she is.
I cannot wait to see all of you guys again.

i’ve truly been dreading this post because it’s so hard to put into words the impact you all have left on me.

To all my 20 sweethearts, I will forever be your cheerleader and support you. You are all so unique and truly blow me away, so please never dim your light. I’ll always be here for each and every one of you.

So lastly… one more group hug??

One month since Sweetheart, and somehow, my heart is still back in Hoopeston.

How has it already been a month since the laughs, the happy tears, the late-night conversations, the rehearsals, the friendships, and the memories I wish I could relive just one more time

Sweetheart was so much more than a pageant. It was a reminder that the most beautiful part of this journey isn’t always the crown or the awards. Sometimes, it’s the girls who become friends, the moments that turn into lifelong memories, and the lessons you carry long after the lights go down.

From placing Top 10 to winning the State Costume Award and Community Service Award, I left with memories and accomplishments I’ll forever cherish. But more than anything, I left with a heart so full of gratitude for the people who made this experience unforgettable.

If I could go back and do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat. I’d soak in every laugh, every hug, every tear, and every second a little longer.

A month later, and I’m still missing a chapter that will forever have a piece of my heart. Sweetheart, thank you for the memories, the friendships, and the reminder that sometimes the best part of the journey is the people you meet along the way. Until we meet again!

There were so many things about my week in Hoopeston that made it one of the most special weeks of my life. From the once in a lifetime experiences, to the wonderful community that took us in, to the personal growth I saw in myself. But there is one thing that sits atop everything when I think about how wonderful that week was, and it’s the 21 other women I shared it with.

Every single woman I shared that stage with is full of so much heart, passion, and grace. I learned something from every single one of them, and I am so honored to have been among them. I feel like the stereotype of pageant girls is that we are catty, clique-y, and out for ourselves at the end of the day. With the sweetheart c/o 2026, that could not be further from the truth. Any time someone needed help with a hair tease, buffing out body makeup, or even gluing our swimsuits on, someone was there. Any time we needed a pick-me up or a pep talk, someone was there.

Meeting these girls and learning their personalities and their stories is something I will always carry with me. My favorite moments that stick with me the most always involve the other phenomenal women I spent the week with. Bonding over Elvis and exchanging hugs with @misstnsweetheart when I made top 10 and she made top 5, having @misskssweetheart and @missohsweetheart pick me back up when I struggled after prelims, finally having @graceclark.mo to freak out over hockey with, finding the best roomies in @missorsweetheart and @miss.laurel.jones, Laurel literally teaching me how to tease my hair backstage and @missinsweetheart26 teaching me about the joys of body makeup (and cheering for her win so hard I dropped an earring 😂). And I’ll never hear Roll Tide the same again.

I had to make a post dedicated to the girls, because the girls made all the difference. I am so honored to be a part of this class of contestants, and thankful to @nationalsweetheartpageant for bringing us all together.

I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful way to close out my year as Miss National Sweetheart 2025 than right back where it all began — in Hoopeston, surrounded by the people and program that have given me so much.

Getting to spend this week with the 2026 Sweetheart class was such a gift. These women inspire me beyond words, and I’m so grateful they experienced the magic, love and FAMILY that is the National Sweetheart Pageant.

To Miss Volunteer America Organization, the National Sweetheart Pageant board and directors, and everyone who has poured into me over these last two years — thank you for supporting me far beyond pageantry and, most importantly, for loving me simply as Anna-Katherine. Throughout all my years of competing, I have never felt so genuinely loved and accepted exactly as I am. This year gave me experiences I never imagined, memories I’ll carry forever and friendships with people I now love so dearly that I cannot imagine my life without!🫂

If there is any legacy I hope to leave, I pray every woman who comes to Hoopeston — crown or not — leaves knowing she was seen, valued and loved for exactly who she is!

To our new Miss National Sweetheart, @kaylaelizabethmyers — I pray this year gives you everything it gave me and more. I cannot wait to watch you continue this beautiful legacy!

Getting to make history with @kaitlynfunk_ as the first two Sweethearts to return in back-to-back years was so special. I hope coming home becomes a tradition for Sweethearts for years and years to come!!!!!

This title was never something I expected, but sometimes the chapters you never see coming are the ones that change your story forever. Sweetheart brought healing, joy, friendship and family into my life when I needed it more than I knew!

I love you all endlessly. Thank you for one of the greatest gifts of my life! Until next year, I am so grateful to always be,

Miss National Sweetheart 2025
Anna-Katherine Thompson 🖤
