Not my best photography skills but that aside, what a fantastic evening organized by the amazing @torment24 & @karenemanuel1, co-founders of Revolutions - a network for senior women and gender-diverse leaders shaping the future of the music industry.

Being a senior leader isn’t just about strategy - it’s about staying resilient and protecting your mental & physical well-being to be the best you can be for others, and your future self.

During the fireside chat with Dr Hannah Alghali & @torment24 explored practical ways to handle burnout and navigate executive pressure. The open Q&A and shared reflections that followed made for an insightful evening in a safe space.

Holy Effin’ Diver! I am ridiculously excited and honored to be an Australian Women in Music Awards 2026 finalist in the OZTIX - Heavy Music Award category.
Winner announced at the Awards Ceremony in Brisbane, May 27, 2027, it recognises a “female or gender-diverse person who has made contributions of outstanding significance as an artist, musician, music practitioner, agent, artist or label manager, supporter and or/advocator of Heavy Music”.
So I guess my 3 + decades of ingesting and promoting metal/bruising rock via @hotmetalmag, @kerrangmagazine_ and @metalhammeruk, plus years of journalism, have been recognised. Huge thanks to @womeninmusicaus Would be blown the fuck away to win this. Wish me luck 🤘

Earlier this year, I was invited back to London for the launch of a new community for senior women and gender-diverse leaders in the UK music industry.

It’s called Revolutions and founded by Karen Emanuel and Julie Weir.

The room was full of leaders from across the industry. Some women I’d worked with before, others I’d admired from afar, and plenty I was meeting for the first time.

What I loved most was the atmosphere.

There were honest conversations, people genuinely listening to each other, and a real sense that everyone wanted to see other women succeed.

The higher you get in your career, the fewer opportunities there are to have those kinds of conversations with people who really understand the pressures of leadership in the music industry.

I’m excited to now be a member and can’t wait to see where this community goes.

If you’re a senior leader in music and you’re looking to meet brilliant people, learn from one another and build genuine connections, I’d definitely recommend taking a look.

The next members’ event is in London on 15th October, and I’ll be there. If you’re coming too, I’d love to meet you.

£53,790 raised. One unforgettable afternoon.

Last Thursday, @ladies.who.rock returned for its sixth year, bringing together an incredible community to raise vital funds for @teenage_cancer Trust.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to everyone who played a part in making the day such a success. Your generosity, support and passion continue to make this event so special.

A special thank you to the brilliant Katie Crossey & Katie Yates who do the most amazing job at making these events so slick. So much hard work goes into each special event. I loved once again being a part of a fantastic committee – @angiejenkison , @sammyandrews , @annabellalimehouse , @karenemanuel1 and @torment24 – whose dedication made the event possible.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our sponsors – Live Nation Entertainment, PPL, Royal Albert Hall and Derwent London – and to our wonderful hotel partner, Monica Bewak and the entire team Hotel Café Royal, for hosting us so beautifully.

Guests enjoyed drinks on the terrace, followed by a delicious three-course lunch and an outstanding live performance from Newcastle-based indie riser @heidi._.curtis , all in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

One of the most poignant moments of the afternoon came from Clemmie, who shared the story of her daughter, Odille. Diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma at just 16 years old, Odille received life-changing support from Teenage Cancer Trust throughout her treatment. Her family’s story was a powerful reminder of why this work matters and the difference every donation can make.

Together, we raised an incredible £53,790. We were also humbled by the number of guests who pledged additional support beyond the event – a testament to the generosity and commitment of everyone in the room.

To everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered and supported Ladies Who Rock – thank you. Your support will help Teenage Cancer Trust continue to ensure that no young person faces cancer alone.
