Tried this Korean buffet @jong.ro at 754 Yonge St . We opted for the buffet without the AYCE bbq, and there was more than enough variety to fill the tummy, especially for lunch. All in for about $32 (incl. tax and tip). The food was delicious. I like the free-flowing juices and soft serve ice cream. And, the service was super to boot! Definitely a place to revisit!

What a great buffet @nakwon_kisarestaurant ! It’s the first that’s truly a Korean treat without the bbq and stews. Highlights include the DIY bibimbab, panchan (Korean side dishes), bulgogi (pork, spicy pork, and beef), Korean potato salad, and warm soba. The free-flowing yogurt drinks and Korean coffee (like Maxim gold) are great perks, too, though it’s only one Melona popsicle per customer. For $17.99 for lunch, this is a treasure in North York between Sheppard and North York library stations.

I had a huge craving for Singaporean food today. It was so big that I went to this east end treasure, not once but twice in one day! So here’s the run down- it’s as authentic as it gets! There’s no cutting corners on flavours here! I can’t believe how much time and effort are spent on getting each flavour right! They’ve combined 6 or 7 hawker stalls into one little space! On today’s menu: bee chor mee, rojak, laksa with sambal belacan (my favourite here!), Hainanese chicken rice (better than Prima!), ice kacang, and of course, my go to kopi c kosong. When I miss the flavours of Singapore, @agakagakcanada and @kissmypans are my go to’s! Big thanks to this long time friend @toronto_larry for continuing my birthday celebrations!!

Enjoying the last few days of summer means finding time to end an evening with ice cream! Attached to Mayday Burgers is a great little find for a dessert spot @passthesyrupto ! Made to order waffles with freshly homemade ice cream for $8.50?! Yes, please and thank you!

Decided try out this Michelin recommended spot: @somtumjinda with @toronto_larry . We were seated in the overflow space next door to the actual restaurant, which is a quieter spot for catching up with a long time friend. Being in that overflow space, the service was a little sparse, but when you get it, it’s very pleasant! The food was a hit and miss. The highlights include the som tum tod (fried papaya salad) and the pad see eew with beef (fried rice noodles). Overall, I’d go back to try out other menu menus.

Finally got the chance to support this local haven @sarangkitchento ! Great hang out place that’s for everyone! What a concept, right?! Great food, great service! Finally, a place where the neuro-diverse community can just be themselves. On top of all that, I love ❤️ that employees are paid a proper living wage, so tipping is not required!

Wishing everyone a very happy, prosperous, and healthy year of the snake 🐍.

We kicked off the celebrations at this new to us restaurant @masterpot.ca @dragoncitytoronto . Each individual rice dish came in a clay pot.The food overall was good, but some wished their dish to be more flavourful. Definitely, use the soy sauce to season to your own taste. The appetizer was Hong Kong style street food and was tasty! Though the service was friendly, it was a little slow.

What’s better than hot pot @matsuteisukiyaki when it’s -10 C outside?! Sharing this experience with a long time friend. This premium set that includes better meat cuts and scallops was definitely worth the $60 (incl. tip)! However, the big disappointment was the saltiness of the broth. I like salty and umami flavours, but this was over the top salty to the point we both stopped eating because the saltiness was too invasive. We even asked for the broth to be topped off with just water to no avail!

@bentokingtoronto Had to try out this little AYCE buffet Chinese buffet in the Yonge and Sheppard area. Just a few minutes north of Mel Lastman Square, this cozy space has quite a large variety of veggies, proteins, and carbs. At $14.99 +$2 for optional bottomless fountain drinks, this is an amazing deal. Everything was tasty to boot! The only thing I’ll caution is to wear sensible shoes— for whatever reason, the floor is super slippery.

I first discovered @westlife when I lived in Korea back in 2003 and have enjoyed their music and positive energy ever since. I was so excited to watch them live with such a fun group of friends.

Are you a Westlife fan?
