@destaat BECOMES DE STAAT at @theatercarre!

Always a pleasure to photograph De Staat. A carefully put-together show, an incredible venue, and once again an amazing light show by @fros_oplichters! A pleasure to capture!

When @destaat set out to recreate their red-versus-blue video for KITTY KITTY at @dtrh_festival earlier this year, it meant wrestling with real-time split-screen camera zooms and a real-life World War II-era spotlight aimed directly at @torreflorim’s face. In this clip from the latest episode of What Music Looks Like - out this week - Torre reflects on turning their music videos into a kind of living, breathing piece of performance art.

This week on What Music Looks Like, @destaat's very own @torreflorim breaks down the creative process behind their visuals and music videos as we explore the creation of their latest, self-titled LP and how their ambitious stage design helped shape its direction. Coming this Thursday!

💭🎶 Mijn Show Analyse van @DeStaat in Carré staat nuuuu onlineeee in mijn hoogtepunt!

De Staat became De Staat.

2 nights of seeing a band's music tell the story of the rise of a (fictional) populist dictator. Their use of the audience and watching the crowd be manipulated in real time was wild!
