Here's something that has been baking for the last couple months..

Side note: If you leave an apple in the dark for a month... it wont be the same when you return. The lesson is that you should keep the things you care for illuminated, in the front of your mind, in priority thought.

Today’s Creator Shoot at the Detroit Main Library was DIFFERENT. Creators, photographers, stylists, artists… just a whole lot of talented people in one room looking GOOD.

Detroit’s creative community really showed up today. So much love, so much talent, so much style. 🫶🏾

My pops’ picture hanging from the arch of Eastern Market!

When @iamlynzeemychael asked me about him, my voice started to crack. I couldn’t hide it and I didn’t want to. Some things you photograph. Some things you feel. That one was both.

Lynzee put Love, “Appreciation & Celebration” into words back when I showed at the Liquor Basket. Now, full circle, she captured the whole Eastern Market installation, presented by @designcoredet . The interview, the video, and my community speaking on the work in their own voices. That’s the archive working in real time.

Thank you Lynzee for giving the vision language. Thank you @designcoredet for the platform. Thank you to everybody who stood with the work.

This is why I do it. So the people who made us don’t get forgotten.
