Two years ago I walked into the mat-room for the first time not knowing what it would turn into. Not knowing it was the best decision I could’ve ever made. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to compete on this team, but even more than that, I am grateful for the people this sport gave me, the teammates, friends and coaches. These two years at McKeesport have helped me become the woman I am today. Wrestling didn’t just make me stronger physically it made me to grow mentally and emotionally. My teammates quickly became more than teammates. They became my family. We stood beside each other through the wins and loses. Being one of the only girls in the room was not easy at all, but it made me so much tougher. I was forced to find my voice forced to believe in myself, and to prove not just to my teammates, but to myself and every one else that I belonged there. I will miss the laughter, the hard practices, and even the team arguments. I will especially miss the feeling of walking on the mat with the support this team has given me. I will miss the bonds that can only be created from working hard on the mat together. As hard as it is to say goodbye, I know I am ready for the next chapter of my story. Im leaving McKeesport’s mat stronger than I was before not just as an athlete, but as a person. Because of wrestling I walk into the next phase of my life bravely. Once a tiger always a tiger. Love you boys to death❤️🐅
