“If you want what others don’t, you have to be willing to do what others won’t.”

That’s separation season.

These @toughatbats aren’t built for everybody.

They’re built for players willing to step into the box when the bat is heavier, the competition is older, and the margin for error is smaller.

I’m in 7th grade…
Facing the fastest pitchers I’ve ever seen — some of them 5 years older than me.

With everyone watching 👀
Every swing recorded 🎥
Every failure dropping your points 🥺

And when the rankings cleared each week,
I was last. Like last last.

Not because the challenge was too big,
but because the standard was higher.

Almost a month ago, this was the first time I had ever faced and caught high school pitchers.

The first two weeks didn’t come with highlight clips.
They came with lessons.
With humility.
With a choice: step back… or lean in.

So I leaned in.
Every Saturday night.
Every at-bat.
Every pitch I caught behind the plate.

Last night, the work showed up.

I hit a double off a pitcher throwing in the low-to-mid 80s.
And when the rankings were posted,
I finished tied for 8th out of 14 hitters. 🎯

Not because the game got easier,
but because resilience, repetition, and courage finally caught up to opportunity.

Separation season isn’t about being better than everyone else.
It’s about being willing to be uncomfortable longer than everyone else.

And that’s where growth lives. 👊🏾

2026 is the year I decided to get uncomfortable.

I’m 13… and I could stay where it’s easy.
But easy doesn’t build ballplayers.

So I started putting myself in rooms where I’m the youngest, the smallest, the one who has to earn every rep.
Facing upperclassmen throwing 70s–80s.
Catching pitchers who don’t go easy on me.
Swinging BBCOR when I don’t have to.

Not because it’s fun.
Because it’s necessary.

Every @toughatbats
Every hard inning behind the plate.
Every time I feel that pressure in my chest…
that’s me building the player I’m becoming.

One door opened when I spent a week in Atlanta with @mrcatching .
And another one opened at live at-bats with @dononthediamond
That led to catching HS juniors and seniors.
That led to catching a college freshman last week at @pbp_ppd

I’m not chasing comfort.
I’m chasing mastery.

This spring isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about becoming dangerous.

Let’s work @diginbaseball
