This weekend Peter Auto is back in Italy for the sixth Imola Classic and the Classic Endurance Racing 1 season finale, where sports prototypes from 1966 to 1971 race anticlockwise through Tamburello, Acque Minerali and Rivazza 🇮🇹

The 1968 Chevron B8 BMW has been a regular racer in CER 1 in its current ownership, and as a road-registered car it can also be used in road sections of Modena Cento Ore/ Rewind Tour Britain. The uphill stages would suit it as well: after all, it began on British hill climbs with David Good and Peter Lawson in 1968, almost 60 years ago.

Chassis CH-DBE-38 was supplied new in 1968 to former British Hill Climb Champion David Good, in bright yellow. It set a new class record at Great Auclum on its first appearance. In 1969 the reigning champion, Peter Lawson, took it circuit racing across the north, with GT and ProdSport wins.

It was restored in 2004 to its original specification and Good’s yellow. Since then it has taken HSCC podiums and outright wins, and in its current ownership it has raced CER 1, the HSCC Guards Trophy, Le Mans Classic and the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.

Currently it stands fully prepared by Pace Products. Engine rebuilt in 2025, gearbox serviced. On the dyno in 2024 it made 234bhp at 8,795rpm, from under two litres.

The 2026 season is nearly over, and 2027 is already full of reasons to own this DB2.

LML/50/128 turns 75 in April. The 1000 Miglia celebrates its 100 years since the first Mille Miglia taking place in May, and Le Mans Classic marks 25 years in July. It qualifies for the 1000 Miglia and has raced at Le Mans Classic.

LML/50/128 left the Feltham factory in April 1952 and just two months later it went back to the works for the full Vantage upgrade, the factory’s highest-performance tune of the Lagonda 2.6-litre twin-cam six. Factory service records run through to the mid-1950s.

T.H. Legget campaigned it in Scotland. Entered in a race at Charterhall in September 1953. 3rd overall on the 1953 Ayrshire Rally. In 1954, class wins on major Scottish club events and outright victory on the MGCC Scottish Rally.

Since 2021 it has had £125,000 of preparation by David Morris : full engine rebuild with a new crankshaft, new limited-slip differential, brake and suspension work. Dyno tested at 172bhp in 2024. FIA HTP valid to the end of 2031.

Du haut de ses trois siècles, notre vieille demoiselle de Rochefort en a vu défiler, des histoires. Mais ce week-end, ses pierres se sont mises à vibrer au rythme de 80 mécaniques d’exception! 💥🏁
Nous avons eu l’immense bonheur d’accueillir un rassemblement d’anciennes remarquables, dont beaucoup sont des habituées des tracés mythiques du Mans Classic ou du Tour Auto. @lemansclassic @tourauto
Quel privilège d’avoir favorisé cette rencontre unique entre la mémoire des vieilles pierres, la vie du domaine et ces ingénieries d’un autre temps aux bruits si étonnants ! Le vrombissement des moteurs et la passion des équipages ont offert un spectacle saisissant et une énergie formidable à ce lieu chargé d’histoire. 🇫🇷
Un grand merci à tous les participants pour cette magnifique parenthèse hors du temps. Et à très vite pour une nouvelle course 🏎️🚘✨

As the engines fire up for the start of Modena Cento Ore this week, our minds spring to the 1972 De Tomaso Pantera Group 4/5 that is currently available with us.

Born as one of just 14 factory-built Group 4 competition cars, Chassis 02343 boasts incredible period racing history. It was entered in the 1972 Le Mans 24 Hours, raced by MOMO founder Gianpiero Moretti in the World Sportscar Championship, and later upgraded in 1976 to become the only factory Group 5 Pantera. It subsequently competed in the Giro d’Italia with then owner Ruggero Parpinelli.

Restored for historic racing in its Group 5 specification with a Peter Knight-built Gurney-Weslake V8 pushing ~500 bhp and Hewland LG500 gearbox. It is just the ticket to events like the Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic, and the Modena Cento Ore itself.

Best of luck to all the crews tackling the special stages and iconic circuits from Riccione to Modena over the next few days 🏁
